  1. I would like to test the sweep/operation of my wipers before i close all the dash in. James (Retroanaconda) suggested checking with a battery and a couple of leads to the wiper motor connector. This is a good idea. My only problem being i cannot get my RAVE diagrams to load. Pin1 appears to be black, so thats the negative, but could someone please tell me the other pin to take the positive to? Id rather do it without damaging something or creating big shower of sparks...
  2. As above. The Econoseals would be the way to go a la 300TDi / TD5 etc. However if you go down this route it is imperative you use very good quality crimpers for the job. Hozan do the best. Yes you can get the job done with cheaper crimpers but they give nothing like the factory quality crimp that the Hozan's do. I learned from bitter experience. Well worth trying to PM PaulMc regarding this.
  3. Making good progress mate. At least you'll have a bit more breathing room than me.....
  4. When all is said and done, no matter what the eventual replacement looks like, it isnt going to be modular. That alone means i wont be the slightest bit interested in it...
  5. You want to talk about black hair? I was about to spray inside of seatbox with 3M schutz when a faulty pressure regulator allowed the can to pressurize to god-knows-what and..... BOOOOM! All you could see were eyes and teeth....
  6. Thanks James. A picture says a thousand words etc. I will probably end up drilling the bulkhead brackets to run the wiper tube through like you suggested. Just means i will need to reposition wiper motor somehow. See what you think on Sat.
  7. I think it sounds like you have the opposite problem to me. Similar to lewis above.
  8. That would be awesome James as ive destroyed one of my handle mechanisms by grinding too much off in a vain attempt to get it to clear wiper tube. Thats a great idea regarding drilling holes in bulkhead brackets in order to fit wiper tube through. The problem with that in my case is that my wiper motor is fixed via rivnuts to the bulkhead. I would have to somehow reposition the wiper motor upwards an inch or two in order to do this?
  9. My apologies Ralph. I know the part numbers for the vent handles. I was hoping more for ideas on how i can get my combination of parts to work without fouling as this is how i buggered my handle in the first place
  10. Im having probs getting my dash back together. Seeing as im fitting pre-td5 type dash onto a td5 bulkhead along with td5 wiper wheelboxes, i totally fubar'd the passenger side dash vent handle trying to get it to fit without fouling wiper intermediate tube. I understand that mikec had exactly the same issue, and ive tried contacting him but he hasnt been online in a month or so. Im wanting to keep the pre-td5 dash setup as i have a raptor console to fit. Is there a way i can just permanently blank/shut the vent neatly without the use of the handle? Alternatively (preferably) is there a combination of dash plate/vent handle that im unaware of that will allow me to fit older dash? Thanks in advance.
  11. As title. Looking for part number of the grommet needed to blank the bloody great hole in passenger footwell of TD5 bulkhead. Its approx 45mm in diameter or therabouts. Ive had a look on allbrit but cant seem to find it.
  12. Ahh so earlier td5's didnt have them. Now im really confused. Basically my problem is this: im using td5 bulkhead with pre-td5 dash plate. Im finding that the dash vent handles are fouling against the intermediate wiper tube.
  13. Due to my old style bulkhead vent handles fouling my td5 wiper rack tube, ive tried to purchase a td5 dash plate and vent handles. Dorsetlrbreakers said they have some, however they look like pre-td5 ones to me? Didnt the td5 style handles have like a ball end on them?
  14. Ahh thereth lies the banana skin. My raptor binnacle mount doesnt have the square hole for the plastic lokut nut... Not a big problem i guess..
  15. Oh and as for screw 16 (shown above) i cant for the life of me see where it screws into. On mine the screw hole in the plastic end cover seems to line up with the controller itself? Strange.
  16. Thanks guys. I see that the left controller screws to the instrument binnacle mount which at least in my case is steel (Raptor)
  17. Its ok. Dont all rush to answer at once Looks like the right-hand one fixes to plastic end cap. Nice and strong eh?
  18. Could someone please explain where these are fixed to? I always assumed that BTR4433 and 346924 were fixed to the binnacle mount but after offering up my raptor binnacle mount expecting to see holes where the heater controls would fix to, i notice that they must fix to something else. The parts diagram i have seems quite vague. Im sure its very simple but i didnt have complete dash to take apart to notice how they were fixed..
  19. Ok. I believe I may have discovered the problem. Does the tube actually fit INSIDE the wheel boxes as opposed to between them?
  20. Yep that's what I thought to be honest Ralph Thing is it doesn't explain why it won't fit between the wheel boxes. Confused.
  21. Does anyone know if there are 2 different part numbers for this? I bought the only part number I can find for this (PRC2471) but have found it to be a few inches too long, and therefore not fitting between the wheel boxes. I'm using TD5 wiper wheel boxes.
  22. So with that being said, does anyone have a number for them, or an email addy? Thanks
