Just watched 'A 4x4 is born' the other night and would like to know who sells the variable valve timing set he used.
I know he used a Kent cam kit but dont know if they produced the timing gear set?
Anyone know?
As title. Looking for opinions on the best cam for a 4.6 RV8 going into a 90. Probably opening a can of worms this, but just wondered if there was a general agreement...
Meant to add - it must be hydraulic...
By the sounds of things i'll stick to the old type as im pretty sure i can lay my hands on an old-style cover. Do i need some kind of spacer or something to take up the extra length of the 4.6 crank?
50% road 50% pay-and-play.
I wondered if it was easier to change to serpentine seeing as i already have the longer crank (4.6).
Interested to know the pros and cons for each though...
Im sitting with a freshly built 4.6 (based on 3.9 block) and im at the stage of fitting timing cover etc. Is it worth my while going with serpentine setup seeing as i'll be going EDIS / MS route?
Does the serpentine system take up more room at the front than normal setup? Im asking this as i'll be looking for as much room as possible at front so i can use a behemoth of a radiator..
letsgetdirty i have deepest sympathy for you. Its inexcusable spending so much money with someone and getting that service in return, especiaially sorry for your dad.
Dont worry about the punctuation, methinks people are getting a bit picky! Were not all great with grammar - its only a forum for gawds sake, not an english degree!
I know the lower coils close up at ride height but there not supposed to be jammed hard together? Otherwise those particular coils are doing nothing at all....
Are all the standard V8's equipped with the same weight flywheel? Ive built myself a 4.6 (using a 3.9 block) which will be mated to an R380. What will be the best flywheel to use and where is the best place to get one? Not many to be seen on fleabay..Is it a 'Rimmers' job, or is it the dreaded stealers
Ive been informed that its a Frogsisland bumper but i cant find any pics on their site to compare. I'll give them a call and find out because its a nice looking bumper...
Thanks for the reply Dave. I had looked at FirstFour but the bumper on the aforementioned 90 looked a lot more angular than the bumpers they have pictured. Or is it just the way it looks in the photo?
On the cover of the April 08 edition of LRW there is a white 90. Could someone tell me who makes the winch bumper that it has fitted. And dont say lightforce.........
Ive downloaded one of the rave cd's from on here but i cant get my pc to open it up. what do i need to open this. I notice that it is a .iso file whatever that is...
When refurbing axles of unknown origin, is it necessary to completely rebuild the hubs? The swivel pins/seals are obviously being done as a matter of course, but what about the actual hub bearings? Is it a case of replacing them whilst ive got them stripped down that far anyway?
