just for the record 200amps at 96v is very dangerous so dont construct anything to heath robinson also wood is not considered as an insulator as its obviously combustabale and conductive when damp paxalin is a product often is electrical switch gear as an insulator also your 200amps at 415v or 3 phase is very different to 200amps at 96v dc good luck
its a black art welding as afore montioned plenty of trial and error plenty of practice my big mistake was not cleaning the surfaces properly still not very good at it mind 2 minuits of welding 20 minuits of grinding seams the norm
Went to dundry pay and play yesterday and must say the new owners have made a effort to improve it with much success some good new challenges and far better catering plenty of water and a jet wash (although not working yesterday ) I am not anything to do with the site just think credit where credit is due and hopefully they can regain a good reputation keep up the good work.
i know you have mentioned your wheels being ok but when you tried them on the other truck were they in the same place cos i had the same prob rendered my vehicle useless but found the wheels were buckled which with the calmination of other little problems due to normal wear it became a big one check the steering box is really tight and all brackets/supports are also tight if any of the wheels required lots of weights to balance them put them on the rear and the best ones on the front thankfully solved my prob which almost ended in me selling it cos i thought there was no hope
try to either view some pics of a seperated engine and gear box or check a haynes manual or similar as there are som difficult to find bolts at the top otherwise you may have a vacume between the engine and box causing them to stick together so maybe a carefull bit of prizing and hard shaking may help due to both parts being oily bits a cant see that they would have corroded together so i recone you must have missed a bolt
hello peeps having stripped the series 3 down to the chassis i am now rebuilding her and putting the body work back on first i put the front pannel which houses the rad all good then it came to the wings as i had not removed the bulkhead i thought this would be simples oh no nothing lines up and the bolts that fix the wing to the rad pannel are around 1 inch out i know its a land rover so one can expect some marring up problems but this seams a bit much so any tips or pointers would be much appriciated sure theres some simple explaination any help much appriciated
shame about the weather guess it kept some stall holders away as it was smaller than normal not bad though unfortunatly series door tops were gold dust but got me other bits and an invaluable box of mixed nuts n bolts many of which are already situated in place of the missing/sheared ones on the resto project series 3
