  1. Paddocks don't say, they are a pattern part so you will not see the Land Rover logo on them. I understand that these lamps give out a bit more light (brighter) as the black surround is reflective on the inside and therefore sending some stray light back onto the lamps reflector. Don't know if this true.

  4. NO...On vehicles fitted with memory seats the door mirrors also adjust to the pre-set setting. A memory seat function was never a standard or option fitment for the D2.
  5. There's no choice there are none with gas it' s not required for steering, unlike dampers for the suspension.
  6. The minimum thickness of a Brake Disc is stamped on the edge of all discs during manufacture. have a look If they are vented around 28.10mm, solid 8mm
  7. 1. If it's fuel it could be coming from theround fuel sender gasket on the top of the tank. That's discounting any holes in the tank. 2. Looking in my disco parts book it's FTC4785 outer two required and FRC8222 inner two required. Sorry can't help with the job I haven't had to do it.... yet.
  8. 1. Diff pinion oil seal is faulty, when u park on level ground the diff oil level is below the seal so no drips. 2. More like a faulty hub oil seal, that would deposit oil on the wheel & tyre.

  11. A bit of a mine field road springs. First ANR4491 is not in my Discovery parts catalogue and on a diesel disco the front springs are 'handed' different pt no. for drivers and passengers side also different for LHD drivers side and it all depends on VIN. Where did you get the part numbers from? This link will show the colour codes. http://members.shaw.ca/jbarge/springinfo.html If you go ahead and fit them that's up to you, although I think would return them, not easy from where you are, and get get a full refund including carrage and then start again.
  12. I have had a look at Rimmers site for NTC8477 they would like £48.43 inc VAT or £23.69 inc Vat for a NTC8477P patten spring. There are a few parts suppliers that quote the LR part number so you think your getting a genuine part, but in their small print they say the number is a guide only. Also mentioned in various forums is the problems with Britpart springs ie. the vehicle is higher at the back than the front or is lop sided. A good reason to fit Genuine Parts Good luck and let us all know how u get on.

  14. It's my understanding that the test you did is for the alarm system with the one button fob only. The two button fob system does not have a similar test.
  15. Have a look at the alarm thread below and u will find this. Open the door turn key in ignition take the key out slowly (to fast doesn’t give it chance to disengage properly, Then pop the bonnet take off the negative battery lead and leave it off for 20secs and then reconnect lock the doors with the fob then unlock and start the key when putting key in the lock do it slowly and turn it one stage at a time.
  16. Ok hopefully the system is back to normal and will function correctly from now on. If so, sometime in the future disconnect the vehicle battery and if the alarm sounds you will know the the integral battery in the sounder is ok.
  17. After connecting the sounder it sounds, but if you disconnect the vehicle battery will it stop, this means that the sounder battery is faulty but that will not affect the system. In theory if the sounder has a fully charged battery you could be unplug, unbolted and removed from the vehicle and walk down the road with it still sounding. It's possible that the alarm ECU is in an alarm mode and needs to be reset or has locked up in the alarm mode or may be faulty and they do go faulty as they are powered up 24/7. I don't know how you can tell that the alarm is working other than looking at the indicators flash, then setting it off, but then you need the sounder connected.
  18. The sounder needs a 12v supply voltage to 'hold off' and to charge the integral battery. You may not be getting the 12v at the rear plug of the sounder and so the alarm is sounding via it's own battery proving thats ok, and which it is suposed to do if the vehicle battery was disconnected. Have you tried disconnecting the vehicle battery first then connecting the sounder?. But first follow the rules for disconnecting the battery as shown in the Owners Handbook ie. turn the starter switch 'on' and then 'off' and then disconnect the battery within 15 seconds. My sounder battery has been dead for years and never given any problems with the alarm system. You can open up the sounder and replace the battery if you ever wish too.
  19. On a Disco1 you can change the regulator through the door. LRO did a two page spread on replacing the regulator on a D2 in Dec 08 issue
  20. May be it's just the later disco's that are plug and play. I have seen mentioned that sometimes a single wire is required to link the bumper indicator with the indicator of the replacement lamp.

  22. Warped manifold face? I have not come across that, but i understand that it referes to the manifold to block face not the downpipe face.

  24. Hi Rob I understand from previous posts and other disco forums that the wiring is all there, so just a matter of you getting hold of the four bulb light units. And it's P&P as u say.
