  1. Good going guys! Keep at it.. shame about team crazy frog...
  2. What have you done to my car?! Seriously though, well done. Gutted I couldn't make it... But pleased Dad found such a worthwhile co-driver..
  3. AWDC Howlin' Wolf Challenge Trophy AWDC/Challenger 4x4 Clubmans Series Plus, y'know, this forum is FULL of threads about events up and down the country...
  4. I think Neil has a date in mind but can't remember when... Wait til monday, he'll let you know I'm sure! Sorry to hear you can't make it to Corwen Rob, nor can I, what with being in Maine and all...
  5. Follow the link in my sig for pictures in 2006 & 2007.
  6. It would be fun at Kirton, as long as they ran side by side! These were going one at a time, I think cos they didn't have enough timing gear, and it was a bit boring. Plus each run was over in a blink of an eye. It was worth it for the noise of the engines though!
  7. I'm currently living in Rockport, Maine, where I'm struggling without my monthly dose of off roading. So I decided to drive inland for an hour or so to Pittston Fairground, where a round of the Maine Mud Bog Association's mud drags series was taking place... The event itself was pretty dull, one car at a time running a 200ft bog about a foot and a half deep of clay, with average times for 'stock' class motors at around 6 seconds.. The interest came when the 'unlimited' class came out to play. Man these things were quick, and loud! Biggggg V8's running nitrous with straight through exhausts... The runs were around 2-3.5 sec long, and the acceleration was unreal! Mainly RWD tube frames with truck 'skins', there was however one super unlimited- a 4wd tube buggy... I left after a couple of hours, it all got a bit samey, but here's a few pics and a link to more. This one was running NOS and putting out about 1500bhp... Grand Cherokee held it's own in 'stock' class: Yee-haa? Super unlimited - 4WD, 2800bhp with NOS... Airborne! 0.00005 seconds later he demolished the timing equipment. The rest of the pics are here: Album
  8. Beautiful site Boothy, quite spread out, but with steep wooded slopes, bog, rivers, valleys, rocks, sheep, wet grass and a mountain... Shame Neil couldn't find a new site, but I like this one!
  9. Hope you all have a great weekend... Hopefully it won't do what it's doing here at the moment, rain.... :/
  10. What a day! Cannot believe we won our class, in the Official Smallest Truck Onsitetm! We are both chuffed to bits! Great event, haven't had the Jimny on 3 wheels or less as much as we did today... Thanks to all the organising team at Challenger4x4, a great mix of punches to suit any level of expertise. The journey home was very very very loud, a sheared off exhaust makes a 1.3 sound like a V12 . I got a fair few looks from passersby, couldn't go much over 40mph... So.Very.Loud. Bloody knackered now though...
  11. Just got to cut the new winch rope to size (ep9's are smaller than 8274's.. ) so it doesn't bind like last time, then get all the kit stowed and we're ready....
  12. I'll try my best Rob! Dad's driving anyway, it's his fault if they break again.. Gonna take it niiice and steady on sunday, nothing silly. Aim is to finish the day in 4wd this time...
  13. Well just been out in the jimny for a test, 4wd is working again.. We'll try not to break it this time I suppose...
  14. Fantastic result Boothy well done! Can he move fast when agitated then???
  15. Bump. Keep your eyes peeled please folks. EDIT: Can this be made sticky please???
  16. Nice beetle! Love the pic of Ray with his 'driving' face on...
  17. Finally managed to get my computer to talk to YouTube... : Interesting to see the different lines taken by the two different teams: Enjoy!
  18. Well that seemed to go well, all of the drivers seemed to enjoy themselves... Well done to the finishers, commiserations to Rob and Richard for the breakages... Thanks must go to the hordes of marshals that sat out in the sun all day drinking tea! And the timekeepers for coming along too... My photos are here: click Videos will (hopefully) be on Youtube at the start of the week. Hope we get to do this again!
  19. The Surrey Mafia will be in attendance.. Me & Dad, Andy & Phil, Fabian & Jo, Lee & Matt... hopefully with no breakages and 4Wd this time...
  20. Had a good weekend as usual, I think that's the best event we've run at Kirton yet, hopefully it'll be topped by the XTC in a few weeks time.. B) Hope you all enjoyed yourself. Thanks must go to Team Tombraider for not rolling down one of the long banks, despite being on 2 wheels and a winch line at one point.. I think I lost one of my 9 lives... And well done to Rob and Jamie, but lets not get into a habit of getting all 40 eh?! Event photos are now up here: Round 2
