quite a few of us want to go this way............. a coupleof forum users were looking into getting some fibre glass extended roofs made...... but im not sure how things a progressing.

i took 2 gallons of waste oil to our recycling place only to be told that they thought i was trade.... because i had 2 gallons.......... let me tip 1 of them.....and i had to send kazi down with the other 1 later.

i only live a couple of miles from him...........and when i popped the other day he had some on the floor.... waiting to be finished.

ive got a couple of big plastic nut handle things that i use............ metric nut inside a big plastic knob..... easy to get off in the cold with gloves. have a couple spare so pm me an addy if your interested and i'll post them. graham

why not try and make one?............... as long as you can weld well its fairly easy. this is the one i made for my X9......steel £15, galvanising £15 and a day to do it all. the only real expense were the recovery eyes. ive not managed to break it yet.........and part of the fun of having a landy is making your own stuff

what about the fly wheel and clutch...........isuppose i have to get the isuzu fly wheel drilled to take the defender clutch?

currently got a 2.5 petrol in my Defender as a stop gap engine when my N/A diesel gave up...... but bits awful. so the 2 options ive got in my mind are a disco 200 tdi lump or an Isuzu. looking in the auto trader etc i can pick up a Trooper for one hell of a lot less money than a disco with a similar mileage......... iknow some of you will say its wrong to put a jap engine in but i have got to the stage now when i want to put in an engine which is going to last a few years. so what do we think about the isuzu route? most of these seem to have done 120k, so asuming its been maintained... what sort of life expectancy do they have?..... any down sides? all i want is something that will hold 60mph in 5th....and go up an incline without having to search for lower gears. or perhaps i should take the 35's off

i thought the wolf axles had a locker in them???..........and this has no mention of one.

so i presume we'd be winning the knackered F reg.............. and why go to all the trouble of getting an N reg swapping the softtop over? why not just show the dead F reg on the show and say that this normal....then go and get another for himself.

in my boy racer days i used to have the rear windows of my Manta blacked out with a type of plastic sheet, slightly sticky, but with 1000's of tiny holes in it................. so you could sort of see throuh it at a distance but not close up. cant remember what its proper name is or where to get it. have looked on google but cant find anything any ideas? thanx graham

is it only scrapiron that sell those mess window guards for 90 hard top windows?? dont want to advise a mate to get them from their if there's an alternative. graham

this is mainly gwyn lewis kit........... 4 OME N73L shocks challenge rear shock mounts rear dislocation cones cranked trailing arms -2" front shock turrets and wide yoke props the springs im using are +2" pro comp......but are to firm and may be coming off im really happy with it and does more than i will ever need it to..........

i agree with rob............Gwyn even rang me up the other day to see how i was getting on with it.....top bloke and reasonably local to us.

is there any problems when it comes to MOT time because i was thinking of fitting of a gwyn lewis one which exits in front of the rear wheel?

if a tyre has not got a speed rating on it does this mean its not road legal? because according to bronco the simex copy "Sliverstone" does not have a speed rating. so if you used it and had a bump on the road and the powers that be, noticed...... your insurance would be worthless. just checking.

.............i get less problems from my Ford than i do with the Defender!

it has done nearly 150k...... but runs faultlessly up until now. will have a fiddle 2moro.
