  1. Just ordered another 8, and i think it's less 4% using quidco Referral if you wish http://www.quidco.com/user/479896/448184/asda My truck uses 15ish litres per change and needs to be done every 6 months / 5,000 miles ! So may as well stock up. G
  2. i used my truck (only challenges) for ages with pretty much the same ratios as you. 99.9% of the time in low range. I had no issues at all. Saying that, i have changed to 4.12 R+P, but mailnly because they were uprated not for the ratio change. I haven't noticed much of a difference offroad. G
  3. After 26th, or else you'll have to swim out here for one !
  4. No idea Mick. I'm offshore at the moment, if you're still battling when i fly in i'll shoot up and see you
  5. Erm. I think there's a small breakdown in what we're referring to here. The p38 uses floating calipers, i.e. only a piston on one side. See in the below pic, the two rubber boots. These are the pins we're referring to. They might seize up and cause things to stick. (as well as the piston as you already know). As asked above, has one pad worn more than the other ? We might be totally wrong about this being the problem just giving you options for known issues The front brakes use the same system. G
  6. It's just the 1:22 ratio that screws things up huh ?
  7. I've done it with and without before. My offroader is sealed to stop water getting in. G
  8. Check the little sliding pins. You'll probably find that one side is seized up a little. Failing that, check the condition of the flexi hoses. They can break down inside, and in doing so you end up getting trapped pressure in the caliper that would sometimes cause it to not release. G
  9. Chris, I've done the online series registration but not paid. I'll pay for 2 rounds when i'm back in 3 weeks. You need to call in for a coffee. G
  10. Jai - just out of interest where did you get the pressure switch from ? On my air system i've got a push fit manifold that i bought from RS. http://uk.rs-online....ush-in/0867459/ Not cheap (like anything from RS!!!) but nice n simple. G
  11. You'd also end up cutting the back part of the diff out as the crownwheel will now be on the other side, along with the ends of the axles as the hubs would end up being upside down. It'd be easier to cut the housing out and move it across People normally flip the axles when running rear engined. G
  12. You could do it carefully with a normal drill. Remember you don't need to use the full size hole the whole way through. Could do something like a 6mm if you wish to give you a bit of space for going crooked. But take the offer of someone doing it on a lathe, so much easier My little colchester student was one of the best things bought G
  13. Mick, how did you find TDC ? Are you running it with the edis jumper plug out ? Like this it'll be 10 degreest out iirc (will have to check the exact details). Is the truck driveable ? i.e. you wish to pop down ? Edit : without teaching you to suck eggs, you've got the timing light working correctly haven't you ?

    winch time

I'm the opposite. I just engage mine when i wish to winch, so it's probably 50/50. But when i'm doing high rev's etc i try and make sure it's not engaged. G
  15. Take a photo of what you're missing. I'm sure i have some parabolics knocking about which might be the same for you to get this piece. Gordon
  16. Stop being a poof and get your head under that bonnet !
  17. A zf will only take 5ish litres for a refill. The 9 litres is from empty. G
  18. Isn't this a feature of the tappets ? I'm sure i remember reading about them being noisey at idle.... Someone else on here runs fancy tappets (i'm on new crower cam and fancy gears etc, but normal lifters). Is it bowie ? Or maybe it's the RPI factor I'm assuming you're on rhodes lifters ? Edit : http://www.v8forum.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2481&sid=01c3297a09ca6ee894972cbf98eac7c1
  19. Would i get in trouble for saying here that i have a TDS 12.5 24v going spare
  20. all of this vs a class 2 hydraulic pump doing +- 30 - 40 litres / min. G
  21. Buy yourself a nice tool chest and you'll not regret it
  22. We normally take them out complete with transfer boxes on from RR's, haven't done many 90's. But we put it in complete into my 88" (v8 + zf + lt). G
  23. My p38 is the opposite. After a long drive with the LR on the trailer behind, once off loaded it feels like it goes like stink afterwards Testted the F250 yesterday towing...wow...forgot using a RR to tow again !
