  1. Evening, I wish to go and buy a trailer later this week, second hand off a person. But i've had 2 stolen in the past, so know how easy they are to go missing. Who can you phone with a chassis number to check that it isn't stolen prior to making a deal ? The cops ? Thanks Gordon
  2. Nice work. I'm no expert or anything, but shouldn't the pickup points be closer to the ends ? G
  3. Team Gunit broke there's like this a couple weeks ago...oops G
  4. I've not done mine yet, it's on "The List" When i've got somewhere i'll post. Put a picture up of your sump once done though, i'd be interested. G
  5. I've got a Lifeline extuiguisher. Have had to use it once and then had it refilled for not a lot of money. Very friendly company in coventry. Gordon
  6. This is an LT77 from a discovery / RR v8 compared to an LT77 from a 200tdi defender. Hope that helps. I'm away from home so can't take any other measurements. G
  7. Will have to see if i can get to a tv G
  8. The fittings that you are describing are made to be fix mounted - i.e on the wall, so it's easy to plug the hose in and out. The type with a "rim" around the edge are for hose ends. G
  9. Spend the extra bit and get pcl branded items. G
  10. So you guys all got wet Dan - what truck were you driving ? G
  11. Evening, I was wondering if anybody could advise me please. On a range rover sport removeable tow hitch. Does the pin which retracts when you turn the little handle, come all the way back in - or does it stay out a little ? My boss was trying to fit his, and it doesn't want to slide in. But the pin was staying out a tiny bit. If it is supposed to be flush, is there any adjustment possible ? This is a picture from google, showing the pin out : Cheers Gordon
  12. Morning, I've currently got a defender axle with the 46mm piston calipers, solid discs. If i get a set of vented calipers and discs, will it all just bolt up ? Could you confirm that STC1267 and STC1266 have the 46mm pistons ? I'm not at home and need to order spares Thanks Gordon
  13. I had this issue many years ago when i had a v8 in a series. I bought a sandwhich plate and used a remote filter....but managed to break this with the diff as well Then got a pump cover from mocal and it solved my problem http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/Motorsport/Oil_System/Take_Off_Plates_Filter_Heads/Mocal_Rover_V8_Take_Off_Plate/1709/0/39043 G
  14. our swager here at work is about the size of 4 shoe boxes. more like 70kg not tonne there are lots of mobile hydraulic vans that go around, it's just finding one in your area. Gordon
  15. Nige, have you seen the photo's of dan (yella) trying to eat a big grinder ?
  16. Cheers. So they're the same as a 90 front. G
  17. Morning, I was wondering if someone could confirm that all salisbury rear discs are the same ? From comparing to a normal rear disc, they're a bit bigger diameter and not as tall. But have the same bolt pattern, so will bolt up to a normal hub. I've just got an old rusty one that i've been looking at so unsure of age etc. Thanks Gordon
  18. Anchor winch ? Our anchor winches at work are tiny compared to that LOL.... our draw works on the other hand is good for a couple million pounds and it's quick !
  19. i have an 88" with 4.2 auto, before you comment about rear prop length my engine is moved back about 6". wouldn't dream of going back to a manual. just bear in mind your front axle will be on UJ's, although some people run them in permanent 4wd. or find yourself a stage one front axle which has cv's G
  20. We use a manual tyre machine as well Got a pneumatic bead breaker and the same ram locks down the rim on the platform when you're swinging on the bar. 37" boggers don't fit on the all singing all dancing automatic machine ! so use this instead. Also have a hub welded onto the top of an RSJ, similar to the above video. Gordon p.s. you have a pm Pic from google, but this is what i have :
  21. You take the impella out of your current pump but leave the housing in place. This goes into your bottom hose coming out the radiator. Sorry - not seen the electric controller in action. Have a search for boothy's posts, he's running one on his v8. G
