MikeAK
I've just been given a box of old tools most of it useful stuff, but it also contained this. I have no idea what it is or what it's used for. Thought someone on here may know. The knurled knob at the bottom alters the position of the hook. The lever closes the jaws and doesn't move the hook. western
Might be a nibbler for cutting slots in thin sheet metal. Don't think I have seen anything like it before so just a guess.
landroversforever
I’m stumped on the hook bit, could it be wire strippers?
JohnnoK
Some sort of tying/tightening and cutting tool, maybe?
De Ranged
This is a guess.... but it looks like some form of CV boot band setting tool Use the hook to tension the strap then crush the clamp to lock the strap and the "top" blade thing'ie is a guage tool to lock into the band and pull against I have used a tool (borrowed from another mechanic) that was similar.... didn't have a hook like that, it had a little hook you folded the end of the strap into from the side
HoSS
Pretty sure thats a safety wire tool, as used in aviation and motor racing. Does the inner part of the tool spin with the knurled know on the end. You hook the loop of wire onto the hook, spin to twist and then cut off. I have used wire twisters in aviation for over 30 years now, and I have never seen that tool before. These are your generic wire twisters Deep reach aviation type rebar tie twister
