Will a LT85 go under a R380 tunnel ?

Recommended Posts

I may change the 300 Tdi with the R380 (Td5) for a Mazda that comes with the LT85

Are the gear levers in a totally different place or will I be able to re-use / modify the R380 (Td5) tunnel ?

Thank you.

  • Arjan changed the title to Will a LT85 go under a R380 tunnel ?

I have an LT85 in mine and it looks more or less the same. Maybe the tunnel moulding (its plastic or glassfibre) is a bit bigger as the LT85 is a bit more bulky ?

I think Miketomcat made one for someone a while ago. Might still have the mould. I imagine a "proper" one might be hard to get nowadays.

Thank you !!

Hope it fits - getting stuff from the UK is not as easy as it was....

You happy with the LT85 ?

Thank your government and the EU for that one ! Its not from this end. Politics. Arrrrrrrrgh !

LT85 ? Top gear is slightly lower than an R380/LT77, but with that engine I think you would want to change the transfer box ratio anyway.

They say its stronger, but I cannot vouch for that. It IS noisier, but the diesel will drown that out, and they tend to wear the shaft bearings a whine a bit.

Gearchange is fine for me, but then  I am used to driving heavier vehicles, dont notice

Goedeavond,

Sorry for the delay but I'm en route.

You're an ACE !!!!!

Please let me know what sort of money you'd like for it - and would you be willing to post it towards Bristol ?

I'll be in the UK it seems later this year but with a 18 tonnes truck so detouring is not easy....

Again, many thanks !!

It’s I. The for sale section

price wise I don’t mind really. Was trying to see what it was worth but if you need one cover postage and give some money to the forum ?  There is a nimble in it so check the description.
