Stellaghost
Started Sid this morning for the first time in ages, engine sounded fine. Whilst ticking over I noticed water falling so went to investigate and found these on the floor Two core plugs have come out.... I can only assume its been cold enough to freeze the water in the block and popped the core plugs Does emphasise how important antifreeze mix is... elbekko
I hope the freeze plugs popping out is all that happened, my 300TDi didn't like freezing and cracked the block... 1
Bowie69
He's not keeping that engine for long anyway 😜 But yes, I have had that before, alarming, and a good warning to make sure you have 50% coolant mix in there...

steve b
...no point in putting new ones in , just rip the engine out and bin the exhaust. Drain the tank and refill with the correct fuel If the block is cracked it's usually along the section directly under the manifolds. miketomcat
I had this on 45 fitted new core plugs re filled with water (+more antifreeze this time) and carried on. In fact that block is the one in the ibex at the moment. Mike
Nonimouse
Nice that they are doing there job. I've started fitting brass core plugs (marine use) to engines I work on. They look nicer
