ltwt1981
A mate has a Warn 8274, he tells me it will winch out but not in, just gets a click. I would guess at solenoid problems but can anyone else think of any other problems. Bit difficult as I've not seen it yet. Thanks.
SteveG
Sounds like solenoids, but it's easy to test motor. Put a jumper between A and F1, and positive on F2 and motor will turn in on direction, then move jumper between A and F2 with pos on F1 and motor will turn in other direction. If it does then it's solenoids or wiring. If wiring ok change out solenoids. Best thing to do is invest in a 40 pound albright solenoid or equivalent rather than another warn solenoid pack. bishbosh
I would agree that it is most probably a solenoid issue. Time for the way of the Albright!

ltwt1981
Am I right in thinking that one Allbright solenoid kit replaces in and out solenoids. Challenger have them on e bay at £65.00 which seems OK. Sorry for being a bit dense but I really only have had PTO winches.
western
Yep, one albright solly pack will get you winding both ways

oibren85
Albright solly connection info here Sorry i have the same issue and looking at the diagram gonna sound really thick here but what are the F1 and F2 connections mean? also it looks a lot different to my current solenoid but I'm guessing that really doesn't matter? 92a
Thanks all for this post, have used it today to prove that the motor on the winch I was given today is burned out Angus
