Ryan
Nice pics Steve - good to see you again. No videos from me this year, I decided to concentrate on photos. I spent the first day as a passenger on the wrong side of a Belgian Discovery with Peter and the rest of the Belgian Collective: for those who don't know, Filip (Escape)is the new owner of Mouse, so he came over with his better half Diede, along with Quentin (Belgian_Dude)and his better half Julia (and his aquaphobic Range Rover). The second day I went around with another friend (Mark) in his 90. Despite there being 50 trucks on site, I was very lucky to get any pictures of anyone other than those I was with. My full set of photos is uploaded here on Flikr! (no account required to view) Here are a few highlights: Suzuki owners don't mince their words: Only 30 mins after starting, Peter and Diede administer first aid to Filip who split his head open on a relay mounted in the roof of Mouse (there was a LOT of blood): We managed to break the track rod on Peter's Discovery an hour from the end of the day, luckily a passing Discovery owner happened to have a spare...and a splitter! After the day was over and everyone was gone, Ash (Perv) had a bit of fun in the carpark with his Bowler trying to scare ex-Chairman Dan (V8bertha: SiWhite down at the washing machine: Jason gets a little caught up on a tree going for a punch: At the end of Sunday once everyone had gone, we let Filip give Mouse a blast down below the carpark as he'd been limited to 15mph all weekend, and hadn't a chance to really press the loud pedal. A couple of straight line blasts and everything was okay: However, just after the above photo, whilst Filip was cornering Mouse either caught a rock or stone, or just gained a bit more grip, and over she went: No lasting damage to the hard bits: Or the soft bits: Both Filip and Diede got out with a few minor bumps. And I came away from the weekend with a useful lesson: no matter how good the photo opportunity, never leave your keys with your vehicle, otherwise some comedian will try and hide it in a ditch... P.S. Don't worry Mr Fridge, all of the above and more on a DVD to you shortly.

SiWhite
No particularly cool pics from me - first time at the site and WOW! We didn't get to a quarter of the places in the pics above. Great to meet a few new faces, and a super friendly club for anyone thinking of joining. Got to try the new hydro winch for the first time as well..... Widget's truck sticking strictly to the 15mph limit.... Definitely going back next year!
Ryan
Widget's truck sticking strictly to the 15mph limit.... You must be really good with Photoshop to make it look like it was going that fast . I know, you get onto the rally stages and...
SiWhite
Nothing as complicated as Photoshop - just a polarising filter and a slow shutter speed!
widget
Widget's truck sticking strictly to the 15mph limit.... Definitely going back next year! 15mph - I'm sure Mark said 50, or didn't I hear quite right? It's a diary date for next year - might even bring my own whisky/tequila/southern comfort for the campfire shenanigans. As a regular green laner it was a great way of letting off steam and trying a few things out - as Si says we ran out of time and energy with plenty of the site still to explore. I had a look at the full Flickr set Ryan - brilliant pics. Even caught me gurning for the camera - I think my mug says it all?!
FridgeFreezer
You must be really good with Photoshop to make it look like it was going that fast . To be fair, anything above walking pace ended in a huge dust cloud on some of the tracks. It was quite hard to resist the loud pedal sometimes... An excellent weekend, I didn't take many piccies as I couldn't flippin' find anyone and I was behaving myself mostly I know there were a couple of minor issues with the campsite but those will be sorted for next time - either the current one will up their facilities a bit or we'll go to a different site. I saw Filipe & the gang Sunday night, apart from a couple of bruises (mainly to pride) everyone's OK, and Mouse just needs a big tin of polish. The cage did its job and everything worked as designed, and Mouse drove back to the campsite under its own steam.

Camp wasn't a showstopper to be fair - but do you think 12 months is enough time to move the Dual Carriageway?
landrover598
There will hopefully be camping on site by next year.

Escape
Despite the mishap in the end (and at the beginning, and on the way over...), the Belgian Collective had a great time. Many thanks to all who made it such an unforgetable event, either organising, helping out our just adding to the crowd and atmosphere. I'm still a bit shaky, Diede did the wise thing and visited a doctor who could find nothing wrong apart from the obvious bruises. Normally we'll be back next year.
