Paul Humphreys Posted October 5, 2009 Posted October 5, 2009 Looks like a front dumb iron from a series to me. Paul Quote
NicTheOrange90 Posted October 5, 2009 Author Posted October 5, 2009 its a 'front outrigger' then ? Now is it a series or lightweight ? (or are they the same?) Quote
p38rr Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 Looks like a series one to me. I would suggest the n/s? Quote
GL88 Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 No, not an outrigger - it is the front of main chassis rail where the leaf spring and bumper attach. Another common place for rust. Quote
NicTheOrange90 Posted October 6, 2009 Author Posted October 6, 2009 No, not an outrigger OK so the front outrigger bit was an attempt at humour... Anyway, Im assuming that lightweight and series II chassis are very similar (see Richards Chassis)... I posted a question on the Military forum re steering guards, but I know things are a bit quieter, over there [Humour alert] and they are probably all cammo'ed up and thats why I cannot see them [/Humour alert] . So if lightweight and Series II chassis are very similar, the steering guard must also fit both.... Quote
Bowie69 Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 My Lightweight one looks slightly different to that, there is an extra set of holes just above the holes for the spring to attach -this might be standard on 'original' chassis mind you... I'd suspect the steering guard would fit either however. Quote

BogMonster Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 Not on this forum - tags use square brackets Quote
