zoltan
We use a TDS on the rear of our comp truck, not had any problems and have done a whole season of comps with it. Value for money you can't beat them. That's kind of what I was hoping, it's not badly made out of recycled landfill

Bowie69
Go for the 9.5i without a solenoid bridge, the bridges just get in the way and mean you need to cut more grille out. Also.... you can move the solenoid to somewhere more waterproof/out of reach of tinkerers more easily.
bobtail4x4
To a different spec not what I am told.
Holyzeus
Please tell us more, Bowyer would disagree and Champion winches general reliability would support that...
roguevogue
I gather that the truck which won class 2 in Howlin Wolf this year uses a TDS from Goodwinch on the rear. They also just won Santas Muddy Challenge with the same TDS now sporting a Bowmotor 2. So, competition proven reliability.
BogMonster
not what I am told. Bowyer quite specifically says they are built to his particular spec, on the website: "Our range of TDS imported winches are manufactured to a high specification with a long list of great features, some of which are exclusive to us, at an affordable price." Holyzeus
not what I am told. By someone who only sell's Champion by any chance.........?
bobtail4x4
By the person who imports them, he tells me the seals etc were altered for one person, so they added them to the line, as its easier to fit the same spec to every item going down the line, or do you beleive they pull off a few hundred and personally hand build them using unique parts? JST
but adequate for non competing, occasional use? more than adequate for heavy repeated competition use, we run one the rear of RV4 and won our class in HW09 and Santas with it this year. not what I am told. not sure if the spec is same or not but they are certainly stripped and checked prior to sales and 'waterproofed' to make it the goldfish. jacks906
as far as i was aware they are champion winches with a better sealing kit on them to make them "waterproof" as this is the main things that lets the cheap an cheerful winches down is rubbish getting in an jamming and rusting everything up
