kingrat
Fancy using this to get rid of the gunk underneath the 110. I'm a bit concerned by the fact it states do not use on aluminium. Any one used it with success? Or do you think it relates to the fact it would dull kitchen aluminium? Cheers Paul
rtbarton
It's basically caustic soda which will dissolve ally, let alone dull it.
kingrat
ta for that. I think I'll not use it in that case. Trust a Yorkshireman to go for the cheap option. Suppose I'll donate it to SWMBO and see if she gets off her a**e and cleans the oven then
TSD
Worked fine for me, just made sure it was well rinsed off and wiped over with an oly rag afterwards.
Mark
What's wrong with using a proper water miscible degreaser? a 5l tin isn't that dear, and will give you loads more use than just your gearbox? just curious.... Mark
landroversforever
Where can I get some Mark?

PeterW
Jizer is good stuff, but then so is paraffin. Les. Autoglym Engine & Machine Cleaner is on 3 for 2 at Halfrauds here Its very good, and is supposedly environmentally friendly ! cackshifter
Jizer is good stuff, but then so is paraffin. Les. What he said .. I think Gunk isn't as strong but does leave a bit of a film for temporary corrosion protection. Jizer seems to get it squeaky clean.
Mark
Any decent motor factors should carry some form of degreaser - I have used jizer to good effect as well as miller's or similar water miscible degreaser. Halfords stock it as has been said, but probably isn't the cheapest.
fozsug
I use tetroseal deagreaser brush or spray on wash off 25 liters 25 quid, as good as jizer half the price
tweetyduck
I just got some white spirit. At the moment this is £1.05 per litre (Wickes). If whatever you get is meant for the job and its less than that, i'd go for it.
ajh
Foaming engine cleaner and a pressure washer seems to do the best job.
Pinn76
I usd a cheap kitchen degreaser from Lidl's, G4 or G5 in an orange bottle. worked a treat when the oil cooler pipes split and emptied the contents on the road. Also cleaned that aswel!! HTH Bri
