With a bit of luck I am shortly to be changing my chassis on my 86D 90 it has been patched and so I don’t think anyone would want it but it has had a new Bearmach rear cross member with leg extensions fitted under a year ago and it seems a shame just to scrap it when someone could use it. Does anyone think its worth putting on ebay or should I just get rid and save the ear-ache from having a front garden like Dibners yard

I wouldn't bother to be honest, just get the money for it as scrap.

It's not usable by anyone for any road-going vehicle, so buyers would be few I imagine.

You could of course just cut off the rear crossmember and sell that separately (smaller amount of scrap on the lawn!) Knowing what price they are new, you should get £50 (or more) for it.

From a buyers perspective, could I trust a second hand cross member?

(No, Iwould buy new, swallow the cost, but at least I know the history of the part)

From a sellers perspective, hey, there is always someone who thinks my trash is their treasure!

Personally, I wouldn't bother with the hassle of cutting up the old chassis. Weighit in, and offset the cost of the new chassis.

I'd cut it off and stick it on here, take some good pictures of it, lick o paint? leave the rest for mr scrap man.

I'd buy it off you (gotta be worth £30-40). I fit quite a lot of crossmembers, so will use it sometime soon.

I'd cut off the bit of chassis with the VIN no. and keep it as evidence that the new chassis under it is a replacement of an original.

cut it off and sell it, scrap about 10 quid for 100 kilo so you wont get much if you weigh it in. i would buy it if it was solid and i needed it
