Davo
The "G" usually means Genuine, but as far as I'm concerned, if Turner Engineering uses something, then that's what I get.
Bowie69
G = Genuine, or more likely OEM. If turner are selling something, I would be tempted to get that, they do know what they are doing...
Daan
The current seal is genuine (see picture with the box), bought from the landrover dealer. It does not have the 'G' added if you buy it of landrover. It works ok so far, but not many miles done. The money spent on genuine parts is certainly worth it in this situation. DC_
Yeh I found if you put G at the end of the part number, it doesn't mean much. I've ordered the dowty seal from turner, it's pricey but I'm hoping it'll last a while. Clutch and gaskets still to be ordered, bit more research to find out what I actually need in total. ?? Prith
I fitted a new Red Oil seal when I was replacing the clutch bearing and now she is leaking a lot. How is this possible with a new seal. Should I have used the Green one instead?
DC_
I'm not familiar with the red seal? I could only find the ones mentioned on this thread. Comparing the "turners" seal to one off ebag, there did appear to be a quality difference. So far so good, I'm just back from a 1000km trip and no oil is leaking from the bellhousing so it's did a good job.
honitonhobbit
I only use Payen or Elring, generally the latter and then I order form the manufacturer. Too many cheap copies in well forged boxes around now
