newtolandrovers
I have a Series II which I am currently working on. I am going to Convert this Series II 88" in to a Defender 90. I would appreciate it if any one would be kind enough to give me tips on doing this smoothly and efficiently. I am currently done with the chassis cleaning (removing leaf mounts etc..).. So if anyone does have any tips please be kind enough to post it. I will attach pictures of the progressing vehicle where you can point out what i have to do and where i have gone wrong :-D Thanks
Happyoldgit
Why not just get a Defender?
Phil Hancock
For your information, as regards the chassis that means original spec unaltered. http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Motoring/BuyingAndSellingAVehicle/RegisteringAVehicle/Registeringakitcarrebuildorradicallyalteredvehicle/DG_191068
Scooby Jim
Why not just get a Defender? As above, like painting a banksy on the Mona Lisa.
Quagmire
A series is a series, a 90/110 is totally different. I have a series 2 and a 90. I love them both for different reasons...
CwazyWabbit
Surely selling the series and buying a defender will be far cheaper and easier not to mention the only legal way to change the suspension type.
jad
The reaction on this forum I am fairly sure will be unanimous, that you should have not started this..... Am I right in guessing your not from the UK?
CwazyWabbit
Good point Jad, it's easy to forget that what is illegal here is not elsewhere and whilst defenders are easy to get here that's not always the case overseas. Apologies for not checking your location first Mr Newtolandrovers, where are you from? Also what is your motivation for the conversion?
