missingsid
Hmmm Police computer accuracy is a problem though, I got stopped by a friendly plod in a not so good looking but completely leagal car. They told me I had no insurance (yes I did) and made my mate drive. Nowadays they scrap cars under this situation so evey time i use my Series1 I check the insurance database first! Marc. Mean Green
Made the trip on Sunday afternoon and all uneventful. Just need to wait a couple of weeks and see if the NPRs picked me up.

Simon_CSK
Greg Sorry to hear that but as you say at least it is an easy fix. Is that part of the chassis that you replaced?
western
not so bad then, at least it'll be back home with a full ticket.
Mean Green
I am not sure exactly what has been done yet but it waa only the rear cross member that was changed so I assume different area. Juat proves I should have gone galv when I had it in bits
Simon_CSK
Greg I have just done my disco as you know and that cost me an arm and a leg. I could have bought a new car for the money I spent. Not sure I would do it again.
Mean Green
Simon, I think there is still a difference between galv'ing a defender and D2 - I think on a Def it does add value, I am not convinced (yet) about a D2. However as you have said in other posts it gives you the satisfaction of knowing that everything underneath is tip top and probably as close to a new car as you could get. Also I had the 90 fully stripped back to the chassis and the body off so it would only have been a small step further
