muddychris300tdi
Hi all, just wondered if any one knows anything about this and what engine they have used. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2011-LAND-ROVER-DEFENDER-110-3-2TDCI-UTILITY-STATION-WAGON-/171183061876?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item27db4e3b74

CwazyWabbit
I've heard of at least one other 3.2 TDCI, they used a ford transit 3.2 engine when they did their upgrade, I assume this one is the same.
dailysleaze
I remember seeing that one at BIlling this summer. I took a photo of the engine bay as it looked interesting. Might help?
CwazyWabbit
I believe Bell Auto Services do the conversion ....
Nigelw
3.2 Puma engine from the Ford Transit, supposedly got boot full of torque! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_Duratorq_engine Shame they can't put that in a regular one
Tanuki
5 cylinders, but from the pipework it looks like it's a horrid antique last-millennium-style clockwork injection setup. If only Land-Rover would give us a 3-litre http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_AJD-V6/PSA_DT17#AJ-V6D_Gen_III TDV6 base-model Defender-90 with a manual-transmission and manually-controlled high/low/diff-lock I'd be there with a fistfull of lease-contract tax-efficient options to buy it. It'd need to pass my "Dogs-and-Logs" test though - meaning the rear loadspace can take half a ton of firewood and/or a pack of muddy Spaniels/Rottweilers/Labradors and then be jetwashed. dirtyninety
read this build thread... http://www.devon4x4.com/index.php?option=com_kunena&view=topic&catid=16&id=140764&Itemid=
nicksmelly
Thats a TDCI from a 3.2 Trasnit, I know it's been said above... It's the same type of engine that is fitted to the current Defender, only the Defender engine is 2.2, not 3.2. It's a proper common rail with high pressure fuel pump and electric injectors, not an old fashioned mechanical injection system. I have a 2.4 TDCi in my Transit that has been remapped to 170bhp and its the fastest van I have ever driven.
