western
nothing to stop you doing that BUT you shouldn't use them when lit on public roads, MOT test has no bearing on additional lighting.

Team Idris
As long as they don't light up your bonnet, as that just makes it difficult to see past? (sort of ruins your natural contrast).
western
& they will need a seperate switch with a 'tell tale' on warning light. IIRC out in interweb land I've seen brackets for lights to fit defender mirror arms/top door hinge, seem to think Simmonites were selling them. RedLineMike
Tomcat motorsports sell the brackets to mount spots behind the wing mirrors
Shackleton
These things are excellent and mount through your A pillar. I have a marine roof mount version, to give me 360º field of vision. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1950S-UNITY-AUTO-SPOT-LIGHT-MODEL-S-6-RESCUE-SEARCHLIGHT-POLICE-BEAM-/390943060536?pt=Vintage_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item5b0605b238

Very simple and very effective.
