robertspark
NATO green (at a guess...) From my research matt is a PIA to clean and keep clean as the rough texture is not friendly to muck Satin is a halfway between matt and gloss and is recommended Suggest a google search on diy military painting landrovers as there is a fella who's done a fair few informative posts following his many hand painted techniques Rob Edit think it was this one I found a while ago http://www.landyzone.co.uk/lz/f7/paintin-my-defender-military-paint-91568.html
need4speed
Looking at the front edge of the front wing, it looks more satin than matt? Nice though
Shackleton
I would have thought it was sprayed and finished with matte clear coat to suit?
need4speed
Mine is matt black all over, and while i like the look it is a bitch to clean. It seems to turn grey-ish even just working round it. Im seriously considering turning it satin.
landroversforever
Original picture looks like Satin NATO Green.
pat_pending
Looks the same colour as mine, satin NATO green. Even the satin matts out eventually and looks faded.

rrr47
I think the modern matt paints manufacturers are using are just as easy to keep clean as gloss, I have seen a few new cars now in matt and the surface is smooth, not rough or textured. need4speed
Thats very true. However i Think those paint systems will be a little too complex for the average Defender owner to touch up with rattlecans or rollers
mcc1979ian
Mmm matt might be a no go for me. I like the easy life nowadays.
need4speed
As has been suggested, a couple of coats of matt clearcoat might help. I may give that a try. Mind you id have to try and find stuff that doesnt react with my rattlecans.
