paulnb57
I'm on my second set of bulkhead vent seals in two years, yes the infamous blue box......if it rains heavily the windscreen gutter overflows (it is clean) and the water comes in through the vents........it also comes in when driving in rain......its a td5 bulkhead and vents on a 300 tdi 90.....the seals I currently have are self adhesive and stick to the flap, is there a better solution (genuine parts?) or should (or could) I try the earlier type that are glued to the bulkhead? Thoughts? No, it's not supposed to leak!
need4speed
Paul it seems to be something that divides opinion. Some prefer the rubber type, others prefer the foam. In the end I went for the self adhesive foam kind, though they are genuine... Can't comment though on how effective/non-effective they are as I'm miles off being road ready
Paddy
I can remember reading on a forum, probably this one, of a successful diy seal made from silicon and a powder (it might of been talc or flour, I can’t remember!!) Somebody with a better memory than me may respond or do a search.
Peaklander
My solution has been to use Series rubbers and glue them to the bulkhead and tightly closing the vents for a day or two, 'til the glue cures. They've been on for over a year & there's no leak. For me it's a better solution than the flimsy foam.

dave88sw
I fitted genuine to my own but have fitted britpart to vehicles at work The quality simply can't be compared. Fit genuine stick on ones and forget about it.
