  1. I got my new doors fitted to discover that I didn't use suitably strong tie wraps to hold the lock links in position, as one of them went 'ping' the next day Oil change on the sister's truck and then went out west for a spot of surfing in a storm and a beer or two. B)
  2. No problem. It's not that clear actually, but might get Speedy started.
  3. I wouldn't use paypal. If funds are sent to you, using a nicked visa for example, that payment can be reversed by paypal after it has 'cleared' in your account.
  4. where is the relay located? Water shorting it and blowing the feed fuse?
  5. I don't know who thought it was a good idea to have a second LR in the family. Anyway, the new 110 (200tdi) doesn't have any power assistance when cold, first thing in the mornings. A few turns of the wheel and it'll eventually kick in. Once it's warm it's fine. Belt isn't slipping (well, it's not squealing). I plan on bleeding it tomorrow. Any more suggestions? (other than not having a second LR!) Cheers,
  6. I have this, more of a 'clack' though. On mine it's the front brake pads moving in the caliper. Get under and wiggle the pads up and down and see if it yields the same noise.
  7. Will take some decent photos underneath tomorrow in daylight. Photos to follow when we pull the transmission cover. Was working on my own truck all day, fitting new doors. Can be helping out/educating the sister all the time
  8. Mintex here too and no noise, other than a clack as the pad moves about occasionally
  9. have you tried the online places? many of them do recon/exchange boxes. Just got a recon box from paddocks and am happy with it.
  10. Ralph, thanks again. Think I'll give BW a shout and see what they think about it. (hopefully it's an uber rare prototype, that will be worth enough to get 2 new LT230s, one for this truck and one for my own ) Will be pulling the top cover off soon to sort out a dodgy reverse light switch, so will see what I find then. Props and diffs are on the right, as normal. Cheers gents, the mystery continues.
  11. Hi ya Ralph, Cheers for the info. Does the EPC also show a manual difflock or just hi-low? The strangest thing is that the previous owner swears that this t-box was in the 110 from the factory That drawing looks very much like the picture on Ashcrofts.
  12. Ok, an update: I've confirmed that the transfer box has a manual difflock, which works and it says Borg Warner on it. Here's what the box looks like from the rear. Sorry is a bit rubbish, it was cold and dark out. Anyone know what it is then?
  13. Sounds odd alright. Normally bearings just rumble when they are going. With the diff lock disengaged and handbrake off, you can jack up each wheel in turn and (carefully) spin it up by letting the clutch in. Don't touch the brakes or you'll drive off what ever is keeping the wheel in the air. have a mate listen to the spinning wheel for bearing/duck noises.
  14. Isn't this how electric motor braking works in the likes of RC car motors? Applying reverse until the motor is stationary.
  15. Oooooooooooh, must have look at that
  16. I guess people come to the biodiesel conclusion from different angles. You're considering it from a cost/convenience point of view. The greens (some of whom are anti-4x4) from a, err... green point of view. Each to their own, at least an alternative fuel is becoming more prominent. If people want to go about believing that 4x4s are the sole cause of global warming and that the moon landing was faked, then let them. If people are open minded enough ask questions, then I'll give them a few facts about Land Rovers and veg oil. Maybe they'll listen, maybe they won't. I don't care because you can't go around trying to change everyone's opinion. P.S the moon landing was faked, just look at the shadows in the photographs.
  17. Duck in your intercooler? Does it only happen a full lock? Does it happen at low or high speed or both? Full lock maybe tyre touching radius arm? Higher speeds maybe left wheel bearing making noise as it loads up?
  18. just to throw something else into the mix. Where all of you that have working applications running XP home/Pro etc, or were you running XP Tablet edition? I only ask as XP Tablet edition has some features such as restoring the OS to it's original settings/overwriting the registry etc after a reboot.
  19. This is how the veg systems work. Coolant heat exchangers to heat your veg. The electrical filter heater to stop waxing in your filter on startup.
  20. As luke says. No idea how much a garage charges, but a belt, tensioner and gasket are about 40 quid from the online places. Be well to replace the cam, crank and injection pump oil seals too, while you're in there. They are a few quid each. Not a difficult job if you want to do it yourself.
  21. What about one of these: Filter heater from dieselveg.com
