  1. Great write up šŸ‘šŸ» Thanks for sharing. I love the 6x6 and each time it appears in your posts I seem to focus on a different detail - like the graphics on it this time. Itā€™s a cool thing. Perhaps you could find a front end in the same blue and patina to match the doors and cab šŸ˜Š What are the plans for the mill? General usefulness or do you have a specific project in mind? I love the 6x6
  2. Great Any plans for bracing your bench legs ? I was looking to see if youā€™d bolted them to the floor - but they look freestanding? Topical for me as Iā€™m half way through making a new bench this weekend. Last question! Whatā€™s the plans for outside ? Are you leaving the step ? Or perhaps more concrete or more gravel?
  3. Builders merchants are open around me again - are you in a position to pick up the rest of what you need? šŸ˜Š
  4. Hey šŸ˜€ That looks great James. Iā€™d misjudged the scale, but it looks a great size.
  5. Well - thatā€™s slightly embarrassing šŸ˜‚ I had stood the solid foot on a rubber block in the past and it made no difference - it just skipped across the surface. But I just went in the garage - found an old rubber foot from some furniture- found a cap head Allen bolt that fit up the middle - and what do you know ... no movement at all. I guess sometimes the simplest things escape your attention. Youā€™ve saved me putting an 18mm masonry bit into the concrete - or coming up with some complex frame. Thank you Next step probably ought to be to give it some TLC and work out how to check itā€™s oil level. Thanks again all. Unbelievable.
  6. I got totally drawn into that !
  7. I have a small 3hp twin cylinder compressor - with two wheels and a metal foot. I need to make the space itā€™s in work harder and build a bench around - and Iā€™m sick of how the foot vibrates across the floor .. I have a collection of rubber engine mounts so Iā€™m wondering how to fix it. So - do I mount it to the bench using the rubber mounts and run the risk of it vibrating that around - have it free standing (with the bench around it) but rawl bolt the front foot to the concrete? Perhaps with a rubber mount - or something else? How has everyone else done this?
  8. My 90 is Epsom green and Iā€™ve some areas to touch up - Iā€™m not so confident on where to get the paint now ! šŸ˜‚
  9. You can get longer 9/16 studs - but they are very expensive I understand. If you have the double ended nuts, then the cheaper alternative would be to use to use the early BSF half nuts ... or is that what you are already using? Taking the hub off isnā€™t that big a job though - so I wouldnā€™t be put off doing that ..?
  10. Very expensive. Ā£700 odd for 5 from Mud. Though I think they may have been 7ā€ versions.
  11. I followed advice here - thinners did the trick. Brake cleaner was partially successful, but the thinners worked well.
  12. They are worth more now. I fancied a set for my 90 but they were all ridiculously priced.
  13. Donā€™t they have the colour in the vin number ?
  14. Or itā€™s just a different type of bubble !
  15. Gosh I missed this !! Though a bit late for me to consider one in my 80ā€
  16. So .... Horses out of the mix .... whatā€™s the next steps ? Do I set up a go fund me page; called something like ā€œCollection to take care of Cyclistsā€ ?
  17. Indeed ! I work in Central Government and Iā€™m surrounded by people working their ass off. Itā€™s brought the best out in people.
  18. I similarly hear a motorbike on a nearby A road ...
  19. Iā€™d chip in if we are having a collection for a sniper ?
  20. I think the biggest barriers Iā€™ve seen to people adhering to the lock down has been either; that it doesnā€™t seem real to them or their intelligence .... I think the vast majority of people have gone with it, either the spirit and letter or the restrictions, or at least to isolation. The ones who havenā€™t have either been on the news or an absolute minority observed in my local area.
  21. Somehow I missed this. Must be really encouraging to see that all sit together!? Perhaps only a bit of fabrication away from rolling ? Do you keep the original bulkhead even with the Willy panels ? Are the drums staying ? šŸ˜Š
  22. Did the event just pivot off one person ? Or are there other reasons too ?
