  1. Pity you're so far away, they are on 99p at the moment
  2. Got some cheery waves en route, one from an AA man Land Rover rules the roads
  3. Lots of bikers blind me with their headlamps, I can see dots in front of my eyes after they pass, something wrong if they have to be that bright, not all, some are ok
  4. These are the ones on my old 110, not the best view but should see what they are
  5. Thanks Andy, rock sliders it is then, and very good ones they are too I'll alter the ebay add, its the ones with the tube on the outside
  6. I have some tree sliders for a 110 and need to sell them Are they called tree sliders or rock sliders and is there any difference please. ? thank you
  7. I had Britpart discs and callipers all round on my old disco without and problems. I have a Britpart water pump on my 200 tdi that's still going after four years. My Britpart crank rear oil seal is holding up without any leaks. Just fitted a Britpart outrigger to my 90 and it fit perfect and was well made. I have a Britpart fuel tank sender unit and it works perfect. I know I must be lucky but for the price I cant really complain
  8. All is good, thank you all for the good advice. Starts and runs lovely now, a little blue haze from exhaust, not much. Hoping that it is four year old diesel and the fact that this engine hasn't run for over four years, give it a good blast when its run in a little. Turbo is new and intercooler / inlet etc all washed out with brake cleaner so maybe some injector cleaner and new diesel will sort it out.
  9. Gave the 90 an upgrade today, refurbed some old 110 callipers and fitted them. Should stop ok now
  10. Biggest you can afford, mines 5 ton I think but lifts landy with ease and lifts about two feet. Tellin fibs, mines 10 tons and got second hand
  11. Seems a bit picky to me, I have filled cracks (bigger than those) with black silicon sealant in the past but that was on truck tyres (11x22.5) worked fine but those were cracks in the rubber rather than cuts. Plant hire firm I used to work for did the same with bad cuts in dumper tyres as well There is a rule for depth of cuts I believe
  12. I've had two ally ones, one 200 and one 300,they have been good for a few years with no problems and still look like new
  13. Got spare half hour and checked end caps to find that they are all on wrong way round so problem solved hopefully
  14. Working this week (sposed to be retired) so it'll be Sat when I get to look at it unless I get an afternoon off. Thanks for all the help, I'd be lost without it
  15. Its quite possible that the piston is in the wrong way round, the lad that helped me do it hadn't done a tdi before, he was used to cars, should have done it myself but wasn't well enough at the time
  16. I think you will find that Britpart springs are good quality, I have no complaints and I've not heard bad things said about them
  17. I would fit standard for best all round performance
  18. Crank bearing faces like new, the original bearings were like new, they were only changed because the engine was apart anyway to change a bent conrod, everything will be fine when we put another set of bearings in and caps right way round, I will clean everything up though
  19. Thanks for that, I feel confident now that all will be well I should have checked as it was being put back together, but having said that would probably have put the cut outs opposite like a Mini so would have been wrong anyway.
  20. Thanks and you were right, now I know which way round they go I can check and hopefully she will spin over like a good un, should do and should be like a new motor, only done 78 k so will see me out
  21. Need4speed, you were correct but didn't say which way round they should be (cant put smileys in either) : )
  22. Ok, (cant quote for some reason) polish journals Looks like caps have been on wrong, I have been informed that both anti rotational cut outs should be together on the cam side so thinking they will be wrong
  23. Bearings marked only at the join area on one side, not checked all of them though
  24. I'll check the caps on Monday, I didn't actually fit them , I had help from a 'Mechanic' friend as I was unwell at the time and couldn't lift anything. I'll check that all numbers (1 2 3 4 ) are the same way up when we fit the new shells and if tight I will reverse them all.
  25. All shells pulled and clean as a whistle, all washed in paraffin when assembled and lightly oiled, I used to build Mini engines years ago and some of those would be a little tight but not as tight as this one, they would turn by hand but stiffish.
