  1. I have spent enough and now you make me want bigger tires, damn you!!!! Seriously though that looks awsome, something so right about the simple look of a Classic on f'ing great tyres
  2. I am putting later stubs / swivel hubs with 24 spline shafts onto a 1990 front axle along with a 24spline truetrac, as has been said the early diff housings have thinner flanges at the side so the 2 pins either side at 3 and 9 o'clock need knocking out and the longer ones pulling in.
  3. does an 2001 still have the center diff-lock or is it TC central? My knowledge of later landies is a bit more limited. If it does have one did you have it on?
  4. Ah front diff (I must learn to read!!!) I do have one of those as well which was meant to have been a refurb one as well but the axle has some slack in it which it is coming out of but I think that is the cvs not the diff
  5. £2k! I only paid £950 for my Land Rover 90 with a 40k mile tdi200 in it! Admitidly she needed new dorrs and rear cross member but still cheaper all in than £2k I would do the work yourself more rewarding and not the hardest of jobs
  6. I have a good rear 10 spline diff going for free if your close or cover postage? It was reconned a few years ago but the car has done less then 10k on it and has very little slack in it Give me a shout if your intrested
  7. There is an additional add on I believe
  8. Tempting, you could throw in a set of shock bushes in the pack as royal mail keep eating the ones you have kindly sent on 2 occasions!!!!!
  9. when it says 2 Pneumatic fittings does that mean they supply 2 of them? or am I being stupid?
  10. Ah I suppose it is a little different then if your not the main earner, finances are a tricky thing in any relationship. LOL at all the "man up" comments
  11. If you have that many cars one more is irrelevant and as Discos are cheap as chips then money can't be an issue. Therefore is it just her putting her foot down as a power thing? If it was me I would tell her to poke it and let her calm down while she is away Last week I spent £550 on a suspension kit and £1250 on diffs and axles and no permission was asked, in fact my misses would have thought me mad if I asked if I could spend my own money!!! Be a man and keep it, judging by your other cars you have a lust for rust so the Land Rover will be right up your street
  12. Nope I am afraid not I work for EDF Energy
  13. I will PM you, normally we're out every weekend but I am fitting an 11" Llama4x4 suspension kit and axles + front and rear lockers so have been off the road. Hopefully I will be done for next weekend but will let you know Steve
  14. I was rather taken by the double generator trailers for my apocalypse / zombie outbreak plans (A life of movie watching has done strange things to me so don't ask ) and depending on if you get an ex-service one not one of the unused reserve equipment jobbies I suppose it is always going to be a gamble? as for 220 gallons pah! I think you need to super size that
  15. Okay okay well try sitting on your butt all day long in the warm doing database and application development whilst drinking Tea and looking at the hot call center chicks in skimpy clothes!!! See my job is far tougher..... ....oh wait
  16. try squirting a hose into it with the engine running to clean it out to see if that helps
  17. I have that noise with clutch up as wsell and was told it is the release bearing Its on my list of things to do ;P
  18. 12 years of in the road maintance and that special gravel bruise/rash you get on your knees and hands is long enough!!!
  19. I am loving my little cramped garage after never having one before, being able to work when its raining and not worrying about my legs getting run over in the road is also a plus
  20. I have a rear 10 spline axle going free if you want it for the diff but I am pretty far away
  21. Like a lot of people on here I do virtually all my own work on the LR Unfortunately I was bested by my A-frame ball joint as my 10 ton press couldn't shift it, so I popped into a local garage with the new ball joint and even the outside tube part of an official LR radius arm bush tool (which was the perfect size) to seat the new one. Just got home and have found the monkeys have not noticed the seating collar wasn't on the flange of the ball joint but an inch higher up on one side sitting on the gaiter and pressed down and put a small split in it Now a bit of glue alla super will fix it so that is a non issue but just the fact they screwed it up and didn't tell me and took a tenner for the deed bugs me, also there is a press mark on the back so it looks like they either partially or fully seated it then noticed the bolt holes were out of line and pushed it out again and did it again The one thing (and a small thing at that), that I trust to someone else and they can't do that right. rant over An excuse to look for a bigger press I suppose
  22. Isn't that because the 300tdi and r380 sit further back so have a bigger transmission tunnel and aperture in the bulkhead?
  23. I go out a lot in Sussex and have been up into Hampshire and in a week or so when my rear axle is back on your welcome to come along with me and my mate in his disco
  24. Following the engine explosion, exhaust valve 2 was strangely missing.....
  25. The first and last attempt at using the humane gorilla sucker harpoon I don't know you please don't hurt me
