Yeah we had a bit of bad news over Christmas, read up on fb that from 1/1/2019 Syncro gearboxes are no longer doing work on series gearboxes only supplying kits so i've spoken to J Bouhmonts about them overhauling my gearbox and building and fitting an h/r transferbox kit from Ashcroft which i have just ordered so once it arrives we can take the comp gearbox inc the h/r transferbox kit to boughmonts for them to do -
Ordered 👍

Hi guys Can anyone tell me the part number please for the alternator belt on a disco 200tdi engine in a series 2a, no power steering fitted so just the one belt. Thanks
-
There used to be a guy on ebay that used to make and sell them on a regular basis but I've not seen them on there for a while, was thinking of getting a set off him as I was thinking of going 300 tdi but decided on going 200tdi instead

I totally agree about the performance, I converted my then 90 a few years back to disc's on the back and although there wasn't much difference in performance between drum's and disc's on the back the pads and disc's was a lot easier to keep an eye on and maintenance was a lot easier aswell which is what i'm after on the 2a

I'm looking at fitting the Haystee kits all round once I've finished the 2a rebuild, to expensive to do during the rebuild plus I've already fitted a complete set of brakes, swivel's and stuff to the axles now so I will run all these bits first whilst saving for the Haystee kits

Yep deffo something not right there, think there are only two oil seals for a series early ones up to the eighties and late ones for through the eighties same as early Defender's. -

Got a bit bored today so I decided to make a bracket to fit the pinpointer to the detector rather than having it on me and being in the way when bending down, pic's up to the bracket being undercoated -

My new GP pin pointer arrived today, it detects 2" under ground so should make finding stuff in the sand easier after emptying my scoop rather than trying to find stuff with my finger tips -

Yeah tbh I don't bother with bits of scrap I just let the mobile scrap man have it unless its really heavy like a cutup chassis or something then I will weigh it in myself but I do plan to collect old fishing weights for weighing in and I was surprised I didn't find any yesterday as there was lots of peeps fishing -

Well we ended up going to Barmouth yesterday instead of today and once we got there we could see that there was a dirt bike meeting in progress on the beach so had to detect further up the beach, anyway I had a great few hours on the beach was a bit cold I was ok but my son and missus was getting cold so after 4 hours we decided on having a pint and some pub lunch and headed back home, anyway here is a pic of my finds before I washed them -

Yeah when I was thinking about getting into metal detecting I did think about a plastic hand scoop as they work well but I would have thought for anyone with a back problem / older person perhaps my struggle with a hand scoop, originally I was going with the plastic spade idea as that also looked a good idea as I liked the idea of running the detector over it after you have dug a target out from the hole as I don't have a pin pointer yet and also would have been easier filling in holes with it instead of using your feet but the spade I used wasn't eggzackly the right one as seen on some of the youtube vid's think it was slightly bigger but either I had cut it wrong / put too many holes in it or it just wasn't up to the job as it was hard to cut into sand where as the Drapper ones on youtube do but are sometimes hard to find so after trying out my plastic spade scoop I decided on getting a metal one and be done with it -
The filter's can clog up and or fall apart if left too long
