  1. Yep painted although the new transfer case now looks dated
  2. Yeah just got a couple of small jobs to do first like swap the new BP relay to a Bearmach one plus fit the two arms to the relay then yeah its the bulkhead and front panel to be painted and fitted but need to get the paint first
  3. Carried on fitting stuff to the gearbox today inc the X brake ( disc hand brake ) then later fitted the gearbox back in
  4. I often wonder if the Innerd's are the same as a genuine one meaning if they are the same ratio if you no what I mean causing the steering to be either tighter than the genuine one or looser than a genuine one, when I started building up the new galv chassis before I ended up taking the 2a on for my self I originally fitted a BP relay aswell as a few other bits and only this week I ordered a Bearmach one as I've always replaced the relays on my series trucks but with BP ones but I've always been curious with them even after replacing the steering boxes and everything else with the steering system, so i'm hopeing this Bearmach one will help make it better aswell as everything else that's been replaced
  5. Yeah i mite get one anyway even if its only good enough for fitting seals
  6. Yeah thats how i fit them but sometimes they can chip when tapping them in and for £15 i think the kit is worth getting
  7. Yeah on ebay there are a few different bearing race fitting kits which also can be used for fitting hub seals aswell
  8. Yeah its the actuel size i need as the fitting tool kit goes from 39mm-81mm and not sure if the kit will cover early series wheel bearing races
  9. Hi guys I'm looking at buying a bearing race / seal fitting kit and i'm not sure what the sizes of the wheel bearing races and hub seals are on a series landy as the kit size start from 39mm-81mm, can anyone tell me the sizes please so i can buy this kit providing it will fit my seals and races, cheers.
  10. Not yet but i will do some during my week off next week
  11. Being as the gearbox specialist went to the trouble of painting the inspection covers and stuff black on the gearbox and transfer box I decided on painting other stuff like the high/low lever, 4x4 selector lever and other stuff before the gearbox goes back in next week ( hols )
  12. There's more shiny bits to go on first before I refit the gearbox inc an X brake ( disc hand brake kit ) And not this week coming but the week after i'm off for a week so I will order a few more things and get a couple of more jobs done aswell
  13. Got the gearbox back today, they don't normally open weekends but as it was cash in hand they opened up for us
  14. Son and I dropped the gearbox and HRTC kit off at Dave Beaumonts today so hopefully we will have it all back and fitted soon
  15. Yeah I've never used them myself before so hopefully everything will be ok as Syncro gearboxes have now stopped doing series gearboxes and Ashcroft wanted £2,000 to rebuild my gearbox and fit an HRTC to, Dave baumonts only want £500 for rebuilding the gearbox and building up and fitting the HRTC to the gearbox and bought the HRTC kit from Ashcrofts for £450. Just can't wait to get it all back and fitted inc fitting the X Brake aswell
  16. Delivering the gearbox and new transfer box kit to Dave Baumonts on Monday, can't wait
  17. Thanks for the replies, yeah I've seen that one but was thinking rather than fastening it straight onto the footwell I was thinking mounting one between the wheel arch and footwell, think I will have to get the bulkhead fitted and offer the wing up and have a quick measure up, hopefully that box in your link mite work and save me making one if not I will make one to fitÂ
  18. Hi guys I'm thinking of making and fitting an under bonnet tool box ( 2a ) to mount between the n/s footwell and wheel arch ideally to fit in the "V" between the two but will have a flat bottom on the inside and a hinged lid fitted with a catch, now i'm not anywhere near doing this yet and I have only ever seen the ones fitted to lightweights but they have different wings and bonnets and just wondered if anyone has done anything like this on a civvy 2a and if so can you post some pic's please. It's basicly to free up the center seat box as I want to use that for putting other things in
