  1. Steve Parker still does the kit and there used to be company called Milner conversions that did them aswell.
  2. Yeah I know it would have been a lot easier to use two belts rather than one but I can't be doing with a two belt system always worried if one belt goes it will take the other belt out but i'm quite happy with the result up to now
  3. New 1250mm x 13mm fan belt arrived the other day and fitted this morning aswell as a pair of lower grill brackets as I left the old ones on the old ( scrapped ) front panel as I nu I was buying new ones
  4. Ok i managed to obtain a 1225mm x 13mm belt from one of the motorist's shops but it only reached between the alt pulley nut and the top of the pully so i've ordered a 1250mm x 13mm Dayco belt off ebay which should fit once it arrives
  5. Its close but clears or should do with a belt on as its hanging loose in the pic, the series mount you mean the mount you have used if so no I prefer the Disco mount tbh just struggling to get a belt as I fitted the same alt on my 90 I had last year but the only difference between the two conversions is the 90's disco tdi had the original disco crank pulley and the 2a's Disco dressed Def engine has the original Def crank pulley but I can't remember if the Disco and Def crank pulley's are the same o.d. or not and can't remember where I got the belt from for the 90, think son got it from where he worked but he doesn't work there anymore but hopefully I can get one on Monday as I've found out there is a new C.E.S. sprung up near me and I have another two motorist's shops to walk to aswell so fingers crossed
  6. This mite help, the belt was just cut and layed across the two pulleys and pulled tight to set the spacing.
  7. I moded the alt bracket today to move the alt forward to line up the alt pulley with the water pump and crank pulley's, the belt in the pic was just cut and layed across the alt pulley and water pump pully, still saucing a belt
  8. Some pic's of my new Ashcroft H.R.T.C. Kit for anyone who's never seen one before.
  9. I paid £500 2 yrs ago, and paid £275 about 10 yrs ago and seen them go for about £750 up to a few months ago.
  10. Yeah 1050 rang a bell to what I used on my last one with an 100amp alt aswell but this time i'm using a Britpart 120amp alt which I think is bigger in size to a std disco 100amp alt, was thinking about a 1075 walking home, also found out there is a newish C.E.S. auto factors sprung up near me so will give them ago on my way to two more motorist's shops if they can't help.
  11. Went to my local Motor world store today with a length of 3 core cable ( all I had in the garage ) cut to length as a sample and the biggest belt they had in was a 1050 which was still to small so i'l go for a walk on Monday into Northenden as there are two motorist's shops there hopefully one of them can help
  12. My H.R.T.C. kit came today from Ashcrofts so just need to arange for us to deliver it all to Beaumonts and get the job done now
  13. My last one an S2a swb 2.25p had what was suposedly an ashcroft transfer box fitted and at the time not knowing anything about ashcroft transfer boxes i fitted an o/d something i've just recently found out you can't fit on an ashcroft transfer box, anyway the gearing was very high hill climbing and towing was hard when it came to hills, anyway later i decided on replacing the engine with a disco 200tdi but keeping with the same gearing and the tdi transformed the landy hill climbing and anything i had behind it wasn't a problem but on motorways solo i found that the engine was quite noisy asthough it needed another gear i thought about fitting rr diffs but never did it then later sold the landy on. 10ish yrs on and i'm doing it all again but with me still thinking my last one had an ashcroft transfer box i wanted to do the same with this one and whilst i'm at it fit 3.54 diffs aswell which i've fitted and planned on fitting an o/d later but as said just recently found out you can't fit one so with the ashcroft H.R.T.C kit ordered and need to get the gearbox rebuilt and the H.R.T.C. kit fitted to it i want to try it all first and see how it all is first and if it is too highly geared i may swap the old std diffs back, its a shame though you can't fit an o/d would make life easier
  14. Will look into a 1050 belt it does ring a bell from when i had my last 2a 200tdi 👍
  15. Disco mount with the britpart 120amp upgrade alternator std size pulley on alternator
  16. I think for the 2.25p engine it is to high but for peeps with a tdi / V8 fitted the ashcroft transfer box would be more suited to it, with mine i've fitted Def diffs aswell as i was hopeing to be fitting an o/d but found out you can't so it will be interesting how the ashcroft transfer box goes with the extra gearing but i've still got the original diffs to fall back on if i'm not happy with the gearing, it sure would have bèen good if i could fit an o/d to the ashcroft tranny box as i could have used it as a splitter box but hay ho.
