  1. borrowed bore scope as cannot see directly from slave hole. release bearing is sat correctly. i suppose i will find out what it is when i pull the box out
  2. they are wired in series so backs dont work but i have continuity through them. have been in touch with exmoor and base elements are £38 each so will try the repair if not will think about a new kit. the waeco seats have 2 heat settings but my switches are carling single stage switches so may end up with just low setting
  3. have had an old astra misfire specialist found due to pipe clamps missing and pipes vibrating it was agitating the fuel the pipes pulse with every time it fires so could be plausable
  4. is there any support clamps that could be missing
  5. will check tomorrow. have a mirror on a stick so will whip slave out.
  6. ive not done that to be honest anout the only thing ive not done. what are you thinking it may have slipped and hooked up being the tube of the release bearing? when i say ive backed it off on the master push rod this was so i guaranteed it was being pulled fully out.
  7. i bought a set of original heated seats for my 110 all foams good and firm so got on and fitted them. put power to them and nothing.got multi meter out on resistance and base cusions appear to have no continuity does anyone know a part number for the base element or do i have to buy a complete kit. all the ones ive seen have 2 settings where the genuine has 1 and i have got carling switches in a mud dash so dont want to swap switches if possible.
  8. new spigot bush fitted and ive got an input shaft out another box for alignment so slots in easy. have heard valeo quality has dropped of late
  9. if you clamp the flexi hose the pedal should be solid. black fluid does suggest seals have you looked in through the slave cylinder hole to see if fork punched through. i presume you got the lt77 gearbox. (reverse next to first gear)
  10. mine works fine and when i changed it in july i removed engine so hydraulics were not disturbed. have tried other hydraulics since. apart from measuring the pushrod im 99% convinced its the springs weak in the cover got a whining gearbox to change so want to sort clutch at same point.
  11. will have a measure but i think its more a clutch cover issue as it was fine with previous clutch. nothing changed apart from cover and centre plate. dont want to spend £150 to find the current clutch is not at fault
  12. no overdrive. no9 says backing plate. looks like a gasket between box and slave
  13. looking at pics i do seem to be missing number 9. never had it since the engine box transplant clutch is fitted correct way around. only thing coming to mind is if cover plate springs are weaker.
  14. clutch fork clip is fitted. its the same pushrod and fork set up on old clutch which was fine which is whats baffling me.
  15. sorry for long winded post. 1989 110 fitted with r380 and 300tdi from a disco. fitted new clutch and all was well but a spring broke so replaced whole clutch and since new clutch fitted its biting point is right at the top and just the weight of boot taking free play out causes it to slip. with 3.5ton on towbar it still fully disengages and only slips if foot rested on pedal. i dont drive with foot resting on it but when pulling away i have to fully remove boot between gear change. its been like it since changing the clutch original clutch was ok, biting point 3/4 way down. ive tried complete pedal box and slave off known good defender and tried mine on his and same result using his. have changed master, slave, flexi hose and new metal pipe for genuine and no different. have set pedal per manual, also tried leaving nuts loose and over adjusting so pedal is pulling master back and holding pedal off its stop. im about to do gearbox change as whining in 4th and 5th so anything i may be missing and need to check. its a well known clutch and not a cheap blue box clutch
  16. i run close to 3000kg plus 2.7-3.5t on the back depending if a digger or roller so wanted to be sure.
  17. many thanks for reply. thought that might be the case. i have a set of these and was going to fit my 3/4 worn muds to them and put new onto my wolf rims. wont bother and will just ebay/weigh them in.
  18. does anyone know if these are weight rated for a 110. they dont have any weight capacity marked on them and me and google cannot find an answer. many thanks tim
  19. fourby 4x4 do a dti kit for the pump. speak to neil he will sort you out
  20. ive fitted brand new goodrich braided pipes
  21. have checked the vac pump as its a 300tdi engine. pedal sinks as it should with engine running and if i rapidly pump the pedal the vac pump keeps up with me pressing the pedal.
  22. all checked and even over adjusted slightly to rule it out. it has also started when stationary , 1st press at a junction to hold. let up and re apply and pedal holds then suddenly drops slightly. it looks like master is stuffed. checked tonight and the new brake fluid has some small black bits floating around. have now fitted a brand new trw master cylinder and has stopped loss of brakes but they are still not great have done nearly 800 miles so hope pads are bedded in. do calipers go bad? all pistons went back in and were not corroded. have pressure bled all the way around and used over 2 ltrs to make sure so nonair in system. servo is working too
  23. pedal is light can depress it by hand and returns easy without needing the return but i have the spring fitted. its the earlier pedal with the long spring not the over centre type
  24. have checked for retained pressure, have tried 2 different masters and slaves and hydraulics were fine on the clutch i replaced. the flywheel was smooth and it was a 3 part clutch. have done over 1500 miles and still no improvement.
