  1. Slightly more than £600 - although I would be able to give a bit of forum discount (free UK postage etc) http://www.irbdevelopments.com/Td5_VNT.html Ian
  2. I realise there not to everyones taste.... but neither is the fact it is lowered by 2", has uprated anti roll bars, custom dampers, and very soon uprated brakes (which need 18" or bigger wheels). Off road wise, I have a Disco Commercial to use, so this is only a toy lol. Although I have got a set of 19" Goodyear MTR's to go on it for the winter. My tyres sit bang on the edge of the arches, so right on the edge of being legal, which also makes it look very squat and square. It would be nicer to have the wheels inboard fractionally - but with adaptors your limited to how much material you really need to make a strong and safe adaptor. I know there is someone who makes thinner adaptors, but from looking at them, they don't look strong enough. You can get a steel version of wheel adaptor, but these make the wheels wheels stick out even further. Ian
  3. I do them... In black so don't look as 'bling' behind an alloy wheel. Attached are a couple of picutres of my own Puma Defender with 2010 RRS wheels. Ian
  4. I have them on the shelf for Defender. And should be cheaper than other people with forum discount. Ian
  5. It does come up on the diagnostics - you've just got to know what you are looking for. Just looking at the Fault Codes is only part of using diagnostics. A Td5 MAF sensor typically fails in two ways - 1) It goes dead completely and returns a value of 0kg/hr to the ECU. The ECU logs this as fault, and adds it to the fault code list. 2) The more common way a MAF fails is to return a value of 4 kg/hr to the ECU. Because it's not 0 kg/hr, the ECU does not see it as a fault - so it does not add anything to the fault code list. This is where most dealers and quite a few independants seem to fall down. You need to check the live date values - with the engine running. If at idle you see 4kg/hr your MAF is dead (and the one effect is the poor starting and lack of throttle response as mentioned). At idle a MAF should read betweem 52 and 60 Kg/hr (depends if you have a genuine part MAF or a cheap copy). There is a 3rd common failure mode I see quite often, which is worse with cheap copy MAF sensors... When you out driving you should see 525 + Kg/hr (standard, not remapped) when under load and making it rev a bit. I've seen quite a few MAF sensors max out at between 250 and 400 Kg/hr - which results in a very flat TD5 as the MAF sensor is telling the engine it's not seeing that much air, so the ECU matches air flow to the fuelling. The other issue is 'failing' MAF sensors, which at idle give a value of 20 - 30 Kg/hr at idle - again the lower air flow value results in poor low end performance, but the off set from what it should be at idle gets multiplied at top end, so the max air flow the MAF believes it is seeing is actually lower than it should be - again affecting performance. The MAF (Mass Air Flow) sensor is located at the clean out outlet side of the air filter... and is connected to the pipe that goes down to the inlet of the turbo. Ian
  6. I have a Bendpack 4 tonne 2 poster ramp and never had any problems - about half way down on this page - http://www.garageequipmentdirect.co.uk/contents/en-uk/d12.html No problems with lifting Defenders, RR, RRS, D3, D2's etc etc. Have even put Series' LR's on it. Ian
  7. Not always.... http://www.mobilecentre.co.uk/led-rear-lighting-70mm-diameter-oem-replacement-c-36_70_190.html The 70mm reverse lamp is the same price as all the other rear lamps. The Lab Craft one is more designed to fit a budget - not performance. But for the money, are not bad. If people on here do want one - I'd speak to Tim at www.mobilecentre.co.uk - as he can supply the identical one as above at a slightly cheaper price. However... If people aren't fussed about colour - and could put up with a yellow bodied lamp, rather than black. Based on a group by of a mimimum of 5. I can can do the same lamp, but with a yellow body for £62.50 + vat (including UK delivery) Ian
  8. Using the old site: trick on google... http://www.rdseng.co.uk/Radius%20arms.htm Also worth a read... and a copy... http://www.rdseng.co.uk/Suspension.htm Ian
  9. The 300Tdi I'm offering will be unqiue - it is not off the shelf - or one modified to fit. I stand to be corrected, but is the Allard kit not just the one fitted to the 2.8TGV? In which case, the air filter and exhaust get swapped round and you have to start using none standard pipework etc etc (including the exhaust). The reason our turbo is taking so long is because Turbo Technics have designed a new manifold that replicates the orignal so that the turbo sits in a standard position - thus the exhaust, intercooler and oil feed pipework stays standard. As per the Td5 turbo - I like components to look factory - and as if they should be there, rather than looking like an after thought with messy pipework. The first 300Tdi full prototype should be done in the next few weeks and will be going on my 300Tdi Defender for addtional test work. As with the Td5 turbo, it will not be for sale until we are 110% happy with the turbo, and it is fully tested. When fitted I will post picture or three. Pump wise - obviously you can do the normal modfications, but you will have the option of an exchange fuel injector pump specifically spec'd to match the new turbo. And as with the Td5 turbo, you will be able to buy it in a couple of specifications to suit the application and vehicle setup/usage. BigSi110 - my apologies for not getting back to you. Ian
  10. I can supply one... Custom made, galvanised frame and aluminium skin. Looks virtually the same as the one in the top picture. Is a proper bit of kit and is a lot stronger than a cut down standard door. £150 + vat and postage Ian
  11. You won't be getting 210bhp with a standard turbo..... and any uprated turbo would come with an uprated/matched actuator (in theory - but depends where it's from) Ian
  12. A couple of my mates have insurance with this - http://www.tradexinsurance.co.uk/products/default.asp?category=356 Ian
  13. Luis, You have a reply to your email.... Ian
  14. Lunch... I'll usually do most things for chocolate hobnobs.... Ian
  15. Does on anyone on here do (or know anyone who does) Commecial/Industrial Floor Painting? I'm getting a new unit in a few weeks, and I want the floor professionally painted and sealed with an Epoxy Type Paint. At the moment I'm being quoted daft prices - and if I have to pay, I'd rather it go someone involved in Land Rovers.... especially if they want any work done on their Land Rovers!! Unit size - 1500 square feet ish (32 x 45 foot) Concrete floor is currently unpainted, and relatively new (unit is just over a year old). There are no stains etc etc - unit has only been used for light storage. I know I 'could' paint the floor myself, but I quite like the idea of a proper epoxy paint coat - with a warranty. Located in the West Midlands - Junc 9 M42. Ian
  16. There are other people... You have a pm Ian
  17. In all honesty.... I don't use my Nanocom that often - as find it never works as it should. SLABS can be a pain at times, even using my Rovacom kit. Some Discoverys don't like doing it with the engine running, some prefer it with just the ignition on, some won't access unless the ignition is off. In all honesty it is more than likely just a slight wiring issue, but I've never had a Discovery long enough to have time to pin the wiring out and check. Ian
  18. Do you want this done at the same time as I'm removing 3 miles of extra wiring and bodges from your 90? Ian
  19. Just out of matter of interested - you have got the ignition turned on? Or even engine running? Next, get a volt meter and check that you have 12Volts at the diagnostic socket. If this doesn't work - it will be a case of starting to pin some wires out. Ian
  20. Part number for MAF - MHK100620 Only buy a genuine part or OEM (siemans/VDO) do not get tempted by any of the cheap ones on EBay or Similar!! Aftermaket copies do not work as per genuine - and do not give the ECU the correct values. Expect to pay between £65 and £80. Would be worth getting it plugged into some diagnostic equipment by some one who knows what they are doing (i.e. not someone who only thinks they need to look at fault codes!!) As well as MAF, could be the MAP sensor (Manifold Absolute Pressure) on the intake manifold, a failed EGR valve (quite common) or even a few other things. Have you checked your oil level isn't rising? Ian
  21. Not a problem to pop down and see Martin if required... The other thread - http://forum.landrovernet.com/showthread.php?t=162008 Ian
  22. Yep... will fit... roof design is still the same as a 1984 truck cab, bar the headlining. Ideally you also want the brackets that go onto the bulkhead behind the front seats, or you'll have nothing to bolt the truck cab to. Ian
  23. I'm in Sutton Coldfield.... or are we talking about the panels I've got as per another forum?? If it is me.... I'm not a breaker, just have a few sets from converting CSW to vans, and Vans to CSW. If it's not me - I don't know any breakers in Sutton Coldfield, so would be interested to know... unless you are talking about AutoCraft which isn't that far away. Ian
  24. I've used - http://www.event-tyres.co.uk in the past and been impressed. Cheaper than other places I've used and come to you... Another tyre worth considering (as BFG AT have shot up in price) is the General Grabber AT2 Similar life span to the BFG, handle well in the wet and not bad off road... and cheaper! Ian
