  1. Adaptor Welded up with a combination of tig and spool gun Some of the better welding welding not pretty but its stuck and has blended not too bad although I'm not sure this method is going to work Cover for starter Welded in and blended Re drilling holes with mill to machine away excessive weld why do i think its not going to work, not enough meat to mill to allow for cap heads, but we will see once they arrive, I'm not hopefull If I do have to cast an adaptor at least I've got all the hole positions Regards Stephen
  2. So had a weigh off.. Toyota TC and flexi comes in at 19kg Tdi and clutch comes in at 21.7kg So not that much in it Regards Stephen

  6. Thanks Have not weighed it, yota one was a flexi-disc for an auto box, never had lazy issues with previous V8's, so should be ok Regards Stephen
  7. What I really like is the similarities between the Ibex and caravan wheelarches, you would think that the caravan was part of the Foers Ibex lifestyle accessories range..... Regards Stephen
  8. That looks superb Mike excellent work Regards Stephen
  9. Well so far so good, managed to get a couple of ropey tacks on with the spool gun, enough to allow me to dismantle. measured the width with a vernier and it's relatively the same thickness all round it varies by about 0.25mm, sure i will be able to get that even tomorrow Think i will use tig after all it will give me a bit more control All in all very happy Regards Stephen
  10. So had a bit of a faff on mating engine and gearbox up but I think I've got it sussed First the bits to tack fitted then with the help of a couple of these little fellas to help with alignment took the plugs out, that ended up being a nightmare as one of them broke had to use a long screwdriver, grease and compressed air to get all the little bits of ceramic out, also that plug was very tight anyway enging turning through gearbox mainshaft and all feels good clamped together just need to find where i can get in to put a couple of tacks on so i can then dismantle and weld up Regards Stephen
  11. I do have one, however the spool gun seems to manage well enough, also if you read the comparisons between the two,the spool gun seems to have the edge for thicker material, not that I had any issues making my lightweight door and top out of thin material Regards Stephen
  12. That would be a lot of wire..... So no that is not the plan I have not discarded casting as yet..... Regards Stephen
  13. So cutting of adaptor parts this morning (sorry to disappoint you @Ed Poore ) Voilà Sort of mounted together will be some issues with bolts but I figure I can mill down through bolt holes then enlarge to take Allen bolt head ( smaller than using conventional bolts probably need to clean things up, dig out spool gun, mate box to engine with loose bits in-between and tack together, pretty sure it will not go as smooth as talking it Regards Stephen
  14. System capacity should be around 1.5 litres Regards Stephen
  15. Take the pipe off and get a flexible one made up by Pirtek or some other hydraulic pipe manufacturer Regards Stephen
  16. If there was two of me I would get twice the amount of work done.... Regards Stephen
  17. Well all I can say is it works Tried it on an alloy wheel first as I have 4 of them regards Stephen
  18. So got my Bridgeport running this morning, still need to suss a few things out, but I need it for a wee bit of Heath Robinson fun So one drill attachment in the lathe with a disc grinder nut on it to turn down disc locating section why? because i needed to fit a circular saw blade onto it insert into chuck on mill and bolt casting to cut onto bed Start cutting, this is not where final cut will be, just seeing if it will work and no damage sustained by myself ...lol 20230818_144714.mp4 Appears to be OK will just need to go slow and steady could have done it on my other mill but the Bridgeport has a way bigger bed and range of compound slide movement so i should be able to set it up to do all in one position, could not do that in my other mill without repositioning regards Stephen
  19. Fantastic Please please treat it with respect, these things can bite, no loose clothing cuffs etc, I know I'm stating the obvious, but you can never get complacent There is a horrific video of a guy getting shredded by his lathe, not for those with weak stomachs, it's contents have made an impression on me, I am much more aware and respectful of my lathe since seeing it That said have fun it really opens up fabrication Regards Stephen
  20. No I'm cutting the aluminium casting down on the end of the 200tdi engine that fits around the Landrover fly wheel, this gives me the lt77 mounting points, this is what needs joining into the 1uz flange I've made, I need to make up a 35mm gap, but may stretch that to 40mm if it gives me a bit more wiggle room Also looking to make threaded studs for the 1uz side as it may give me more room putting a bit on as allows to trying to get a bolt in Hopefully that makes sense as I've still got tired nightshift head on, although last one tonight Regards Stephen
  21. Need to rig up a slitting saw on mill to cut next section for gearbox side Also the below has possibilities for joining the two Flanges together One alloy wheel rim Fits around flywheel nicely so there is possibilities with this, just need to cut things down and see how its goint to work to make a complete adaptor regards Stephen
  22. Engine flange completed ready for tig From yesterday today flywheel fitted nice clearance all round regards Stephen
