  1. @Bowie69 you were not too far away, mog front axle is 240kg dry and rear is 220kg dry, I've taken weight off but also added some back on, so for arguments sake we will use the above weights as axle wet weights Tyre, wheel combo is 57kg ( weighed one today ) so that makes front axle around 354kg and rear 334kg give or take 10kg on each so, I can deduct 688kg of the total weight once weighed to give me an idea of sprung weight Regards Stephen
  2. Is that with tubed or tubeless rims regards Stephen
  3. Haha, would be quicker if I did it again, kinda half know what I'm doing now lol Regards Stephen
  4. That is a very generous offer Daan, something that I might come back to..... If you don't mind I am going to cobble something together myself first just because I like to see if I can do it with the gear I've got, if you know what I mean Thank you regards Stephen
  5. Just reading through this again ultimately, I think you've gone the better route than I did, axles will be lighter and you should have a bit more ground clearance as the rover diff case is smaller than the mog one, cannot wait to see these under your truck, however I would of really liked to see them under the lightweight more......... Keep up the good work Doug Regards Stephen
  6. Been having a bit more think about this, with a bit of modification to my flat bar roller, I could roll some flat bar end on into a circle to form the basis of my weld on section and clamp, sounds good in theory anyway Regards Stephen
  7. Another question, has anyone made their own beadlocks ??s thinking about it just wondered if anyone else has done it Regards Stephen
  8. @steve b could you possibly pm me with details and cost of purchase of the above mentioned transfer box please Thank you very much in advance regards Stephen
  9. Cheers John that would be good, I will obviously return them once I see what the crack is, let me know if you find them Regards Stephen
  10. Couple of things, if any of you have 17" steel rims could I get a measurement of the internal diameter of the rim from the inside edge, also Willwood calipers, are they physically smaller than disco rears, from what I've been looking at some of their calipers curve around with the disc which seems to make them fit in tighter spaces , also a measurement from the disc edge to the farthest part of the caliper from the disc would be good I'm asking because the inside diameter of a disco 1 alloy is not that far from going over the disco caliper set up I have, 17 inch rim will not go over the mog steering housing but sacrificing a wee bit of width to gain better tyre selection is a compromise I could live with Regards Stephen
  11. Used 7.50 dumper tyres when I did modified trials, brilliant grip though not so good on side slopes, side walls will be very stiff on bigger sizes Regards Stephen
  12. What wheel tyre combination are you using Doug, any idea what your total width with tyres will be ? Regards Stephen
  13. Ok, probably better next time out with them aired down, time will tell Any suppliers in the UK for large off road tyres ?? Regards Stephen
  14. So Sid on bump stops, some work to do to the front to reduce bump stop height, could get away on off side but near side needs the sump removing and trimmed to stop single link catching, not a big job Near side single link arm Off side Regards Stephen
  15. I agree, think they will do until something else crops up Regards Stephen
  16. They have a bead Mike, I welded one in on all rims around 4 years back Regards Stephen
  17. Brilliant @Daan that is food for thought, might start sourcing materials just in case, or I could make a heavy duty slip roll to make my own tube........ Regards Stephen
  18. In addition I've introduced an obstacle for the tyres to mould around, looks better with the lower psi I think regards Stephen
  19. A bit of tyre information I let one of the tyres down Full Empty you can see the tyre wall will deform 6psi So my thoughts are this, tyres are probably not too bad, I think the main issue is that the tyre wall is short and not as easily deformed as a higher tyre wall, it may be a case of making some bead locks and running lower pressures Regards Stephen
  20. We've been closer than you think, was born in Northumberland regards Stephen
  21. Yep, near side rear needs tweeking it's on my snagging list Regards Stephen
  22. Ran them at 15psi, going to remove valves and see what happens Unfortunately the rims need to clear more than the brakes due to the wheel inset to help reduce overall width Regards Stephen
  23. Thanks very much Dave although I need to correct you on one thing, I'm English and happen to live in this beautiful part of the world Regards Stephen
  24. When I did a bit of looking it was actually Nige on here that said they were weaker ??? Not saying your wrong and your knowledge is streets ahead of mine Regards Stephen
