  1. Er..... um.... maybe...... got to check with you know who.......
  2. Geoff, When I soaked the soundproofing for the first time I cut it out - two straight cuts along the front and transmission tunnel edges and the floor bit comes out. A third cut up the join of the transmission tunnel and the front of the footwell and that bit comes out too. You now have four bits (two from each side) that you can easily dry. If the remainder is wet then prop it away from the metal and leave a small fan heater in there overnight. Because the soundproofing is a foam backed piece of thick rubber, when you put the pieces back in, the thick rubber locates itself against its neighbour nicely. With the carpet and floor mat over the top you'll never know you had chopped it about. Hope that makes sence.......
  3. With all these people bringing cake I'd better come too! Only got your health in mind you understand...
  4. That's me registered. Been meaning to for a while as I missed the November one Jim - no castle in July - we'll be feeding the midges at the campsite. Dave (Lang) - if you want to navigate for me you're welcome.......
  5. Er, bit of a typo Dave methinks.......
  6. Here's a graphical representaiton for the Warn winches discussed. The M8000 is surprisingly faster than the XD9000 over its full load range! The 8274 starts fastest and ends up slowest and the 9.5XP is the quickest of all except for no load speed. and a comparison of current draw - nothing between them: Perhaps a good solution would be an M8000 with a bling motor on it?
  7. Nick, You're not upsetting us - just making us jealous!!
  8. Oi Nick! What part of "Blacksmith and fabricator types look away now" do you not understand.....!!!! Git git git git git!!!!!!! Still, I reckon Fruity did a better job of my rear wings with a bit of old kitchen worksurface as a former so ner ner ne ner ner!! Having said all that, nice metalwork I have to say! Oh, and "it's easy with the right equipment and enough practice" is a huge understatement!
  9. XD9000: 9000lbs - 6.38ft/min from HERE 8000llbs - 6.88ft/min M8274 - 50 8000lbs - 6.10ft/min from HERE
  10. Welcome cosbros! As Will says, there are plenty of us around. Check out JST's thread at the top of the forum - that may interest you. Also, do us a favour and fill in your profile so we know which bit of the South West you inhabit!!
  11. Right ho! 115mm it is ( or as close as I can get with my bodging stick!)
  12. You'd have a better chance if you gave me a dimension........
  13. I'd go as far as 1992 before being unsure about 10 / 24 spline. I have had 2 1992 RR, both are 10 spline. Be careful though - 1992 saw a lot of changes to specificaiton....... I'd pull a rear half shaft - if that's 10 spline then the front will be the same. (Famous last words!!!)
  14. OK, let me know and I'll "fabricate" some at the weekend...... You do realise that I won't post them though and you will have to cross the border......
  15. Charge??????????????????? You're having a laugh!!! If you venture over the border I'll do them for a pint!! How deep is your bumper? My two trial attempts might fit as they were too narrow for my bumper..
  16. Tonk, It is 16mm bar and sticks out by 55mm. If they bend I will replace them with two hoops that are bent togther and welded. I have some 20mm (may be bigger actually) bar but didn't fancy the double hernia trying to bend it "my way" . For less than 20 quid I'll see how they go...
  17. Just to close this one out - here's the finished article: and a close up:
  18. Useless fact of the day: Tyres are not "helium tight" - the molecules can passs through the rubber ................
  19. Excellent James! Glad to hear you have had (considerably) more success than me. Can't offer a site at the moment, but maybe for round 2 of the FSWC2....? Sign me up! 1. TC 2. Mike Dunlop tbc 3. 20. You work away James - I am more than happy to take a back seat - that way something might happen!!
  21. Either suits me, although going for a drink in Weston is abit of a lottery... Got any decent welders in that depot TC? I'm not working Monday or Tuesday so I could pop round with the bumper......
  22. Relax Dicky!!! Just pointing out that you've been stuck your fair share too...! Mark (90), the steel scrappy bloke is on Winterstoke Road in Weston. You'll probably know it -on the LHS as you leave town opposite the entrance to Halfrauds. Mark (005) - I don't plan on keeping it that way........ , and you can't sell it coz you're teamed up with me again for Tony's Birthday..... and you promised to get a winch too........
