Might be up for this - need a shake down before heading off to Cambridgeland.
Will be short notice though - I might have to make an appearance at my folks that weekend......
What's wrong with what you have? Out of the box the rangie suspension is excellent.
Do you wanty to fit bigger tyres? If so, how big?
This topic has been discussed many times, I would suggest (if you haven't done so already) doing a search of the archive. There is plenty to consider there.
There are so many permutation of LR and aftermarket springs and shocks that without a really detailled spec of what you want at the end it is difficult to advise further.
Have a look in the archive and report back.
Very nice!
I have lusted after those since the first time I saw them!!
Bu99er all use to me now I've chopped the ar$e off her though!
No idea about those two tubes -perhaps they were for attaching some piece of G4 equipment to?
Nearly there now Steve!!
How are the plans coming along??? I'm saving pennies for the fuel at the moment but I'm still coming (unlike that rabble ^^^^)
You could start off with directions and an idea of accommodation / camping, then lead on to the off roading delights you have planned!
James,
Excellent to hear things are progressing!
A couple of queries regarding the rules and regs:
Are you enforcing the Mandatory equipment? I for one do not have all the equipment listed:
No ground anchor and my recovery points aren't picked out in red .
I do have a fire extinguisher, but not sure of the size.
Also, are we to bring our MOT certs along too?
Keep up the good work!
When I bobtailed the rangie (well, about 6 months afterwards actually ) I simply sent in the V5 with the number of seats amended from 5 to 2.
A couple of weeks later I got an updated one back. Simple.
don't know abou the rules of 12 seaters and licence req's though.....
My set up is similar to Budgie's - window rocker switch with isolator that also isolates the winch via a can solenoid - stops undesirables having some fun with the wanderlead socket on the front grille...
In a similar vein - I have taken a couple of the rubbing strips off the Rangie and will need to re-apply them.
Anyone got any good products that will stick them back on as firmly as they were originally?
Cheers,
As long as it's not blatant spam then I think it's a good thing having web links in signatures (as long as its not a huge banner that fills the screen and makes threads unnecessarily long.)
I find a quick browse through these sites can be most informative.
Even our very own Big Si has his web site in his siggy - admittedly in tiny grey font B) , but it's the same thing.
After all, if all these small companies have one decent new idea to flaunt then we will all benefit.
Blatant spam - no thanks.
Discrete web links - fine by me.
Oi !!
Mr Warne behave yourself ........
Now you're down to two pedals have you had any more success depressing the right one...?
Or do you now use both feet on the big one in the middle..?
Eh ,
