  1. Bought mine from him (Yan the landyman) he told me it was rock solid..as he had had it checked by his ace mechanic (Ray Charles assisted by Stevie Wonder and Helen Keller on flats no doubt)I knew nothing and the chassis was covered in thick clarted up old engine oil so couldnt see a thing. Still got it!! changed chassis, bulkhead, floors, footwell, rear crossmember before I bit the bullet with the chassis swap...Nightmare....I contacted him he didnt even reply. At least Dick Turpin wore a mask Yan
  2. Sorry..... whats a london lez? I think I have seen her on video
  3. I have got one that fits over the upright tube and they are made by Bearmach and others. They are retailed through mail order 4x4 http://www.mailorder4x4.com/acatalog/info_2487.html Is this the kind you mean? Try them they maybe able to help. Cheers J ps I know it says 200tdi but you get the picture.
  4. Thats a good point I might look at drilling some drain holes at the lowest part of the footwell.
  5. Someone told me Citreon AX seats as they have removable squab seats....Dunno if its true though!!
  6. Found a small split in the seat squab of my new (to me) seats and thought I would try to catch it before it spread as they do with usage. I used a great product from the US called liquid-stitch it permanantly fixes splits cuts and all manner of blemishes and you can colour it, its waterproof after 24hrs and can be used on leather, fabric, vinyl. You paint it on and it forms a skin over the split. It does dry with a slight sheen but that can be taken off with a bit of abrasive when dry "Its nice when things do what they say on the tin"
  7. I been trying to learn to grind drill bits for about 20yrs and still make a mess of ever shrinking drill bits I bought an old 1970s electric B&D drill sharpener on ebay about two years ago and its great even I can sharpen drills now. I think they do modern versions now but this old one works well enough for the £8 it cost! I tried jigs and as expected ruined some perfectly good drill bits. By the way Anchor supplies have got some good deals on Morse bits at the moment. Cheers J
  8. Thanks Ralph, downloaded and saved. Cheers James
  9. Started beating myself but the pipe fell to bits....poor workmanship...
  10. Record used to be the best but things change!
  11. Hi, I know I ask a lot of questions but here goes. On a 90 the angled channel section brackets that fix the rear wing to the underside of the tub infront of the rear wheel arch what are they called so I can do a search for some new ones? Also do they just bolt through the floor and to the bottom tab/return of the wing as they appear to or is this a former bodge? Cheers James
  12. To be honest I couldnt find a number to quote as these have been shotbalsted and epoxy two pack painted by the original owner (nice job). Where would the numbers be?
  13. You guys lost me at "microcat" so thats right then? One flexible to rear T section? Thanks for the replies
  14. Sorry more questions.....I recently bought a Britpart (yes I know they are not the best) extended +40mm brake pipe set for my 90 with retro fit td5 axles. Now here is the mystery they sent me four brake pipes two longish and two shorter ones. The thing is I only have one on the rear that conects the front to rear pipe to the T section on the diff that feeds fluid to the calipers via rigid alloy pipes. Perhaps the former owner used rigid pipe instead of flexi pipes to each caliper. Does anyone know where I can buy a single extended brake line to couple the rear axle to the front to back pipe as the two remaining pipes are too short to be used for the job anyway ?
  15. I have got a bit on my front (retro fitted td5) axle/steering that hasnt got anything that bolts to it! anyone know what its for or is it just an option for the left hand drive market?
  16. That seems to be the easiest way. Thanks for the replies
