  1. In response to the thread title... Yes. Not that I can comment of course...... Rich
  2. Yes, they have to be within a certain distance of the edges of the vehicle after a certain date. (pre LR90) If you need all the info I can have a look in the manual tomorrow at work. Rich
  3. As stated, make sure it's greased properly. My HiLift pins always stick if it's not given regular maintenance. Rich
  4. Thanks. The hand car wash, valet and tyres/arches blackened kept the scrutineers happy. Gave them someone to take the p*** out of too. Rich
  5. Add my name to the list please. Rich
  6. I was waiting for that.... Thanks for a great day James, looking forward to the next one. Rich
  7. 2 portions of 1 battered sausage, chips and a diet coke please. Rich
  8. Yes, I can always find a home for more stuff to clutter up the garage.
  9. Personally I'd go for fixed ones.... All the sliding ones rattle once they are about 6 weeks old in my experiance. (Unless you jam something in them ) Rich
  10. JST's event on Saturday? Handing over the cash would involve less effort from me. Rich PS. Since you added the p.p.s, I take this question back.
  11. As said it can really depend on the dealer. Mine have been great. Only thing they needed to do was a new front diff at about 38,000 miles. They told me it was on the way out at the service, ordered the part and did it the following week. They have always said to me that it's best to be honest if you modify so they know what they are dealing with. To be fair to them I can't fault the dealer I use, other than the fact that all the courtesy cars are Freelanders and can't tow a big trailer. Rich
  12. 1 Medium for me please. Rich
  13. Would be OK for clubs to go trialling if you got a digger in there. Many clubs hire small patches of land for monthly events, and with trialling you generally only have one or two cars going at the same time while the others watch. Rich
  14. Nope. That is supposed to be a 110 station wagon with the 'no cost option' of having the rear windows removed I think. If that's the case it's still technically a station wagon. Rich
  15. Thanks Ralph. This one is number 1,700 odd then since 90s were introduced, including 110s. I used the SALL code to confirm it was originally a station wagon as it has the lashing down points down the sides of the tub. Rich
  16. No it's that fancy white colour. Must have been the sun reflecting off Taz. I do actually like silver, but both my neighbours always have silver cars and I like to be different. My 55 plate has 45k on the clock. (well, 46k now) Rich
  17. Did something daft today. (I'm sure many of us Land Rover types can relate to this) Bought (cheap) an A reg 90, registered 1st July 1984. Original County station wagon, I checked the chassis numbers. Now, assuming (from my last thread) this is an early one probably built in June how would I find when it rolled off the production line and what number it is from the first? Did they restart the vehicle identity numbers on the chassis number or just carry on from the series 3? BTW, I know it's not a classic... I'm just interested. Thanks, Rich
  18. Hi Tim Got a chart from the dealer showing prices of all models pre-buget. All station wagons were £215 VED and everything else was £170. With the new road tax rules that could make the Double cab more attractive, particularly as due to less stuff in the back they are a few grand cheaper. Assuming it's true of course. However, as you say not so suitable for some of us. I bought a new 110CSW late in 05. Due to my milage it's only lost about 9 grand in 18 months. Shame you didn't want a white one. (or more used one) Rich
  19. Spoke to a dealer yesterday, he's trying to get me to buy one..... He said that there has been a delay on them and complained they have not even got one to put in the showroom yet. Silver is not an unpopular colour, every retired person I know has a silver car. Is it true double cab 110s avoid the new high road tax as they are a 'light commercial' despite having 5 seats? Rich
  20. Taunton Deane Travel Inn on the M5 is £49 a night, £10 cheaper than the travel lodge. That's where we stayed last time, got the two places confused. no licensed bar though. so may be ideal for you Orgasmic Farmer. Rich
  21. Maybe.... Last time we got there about midnight so needed sleep.
  22. It may be 'down south' but it's on the wrong side. I have to drive from Essex right across, nearly in to Devon to do a nice Saturday winch challenge.
  23. If it could be August you'd be better of with a september car no? Later plate so better residual value. Or buy a nice used TD5 and save a pile of cash.
  24. Thanks guys. I knew some helpful person(s) on here would know the answer. I checked wikipedia first, but they only had the year. Rich
