  1. PM replied to !!! I'm already holding them for somebody and you were the fourth enquiry. Sorry Rich
  2. If you use an older donor vehicle (unless you are building something mad) such as a cheapy from ebay you won't get hit with the new variable road tax on emissions or euro 4 emission legislation. Or can you get round this last one with an SVA? - which is apparently a PITA. Rich
  3. Actually, I think you should buy a reasonably well specced 90 off me while you build the next project. You know, something to play with so you don't get bored during the build. Rich
  4. It's the ground I tell you !! Typical, one pic of my truck and it looks wonky. Anyway Kelmarsh is dead, cancelled etc.... So billing will be going ahead as usual, just with a different crew running the show and off road course. Rich
  5. I've got 5 of those 36 inch Extreme Treker 2's in the Garage. Not on rims though, never used. The ones with three smaller blocks down the middle. Rich I like to hoard stuff. Edited to add: I think I've already hoarded far too much stuff.
  6. I'd be interested too, to see how things such as portals would afect the scoring. My wealth of experiance won't make up for a heavy penalty on each punch. Although I don't need to win, I'd like to have a chance not to come last!! Rich
  7. Looking forward to getting out in the orange truck again.
  8. And your point is........ ?
  9. Damn, I should have thought of that !!!
  10. Maybe it's OO (letters) then 7007 in numbers? There are plates like these for sale going up to OO 9940. They have just messed with the spacing. Rich
  11. If it was parked outside a house overlooking the plain I was visiting family. I was on the way back from the Saturday event James did. Essex to Somerset seemed a long way just to marshall, so I did a few other things while I was out!! There is a nice lane 100 feet from the house that runs olong the end of the MOD land to the A343. I can't park on the drive normally in case the car drips. Rich
  12. A great day out, thanks all. Made a nice change to be a marshall and see how different people attack the same punches. Rich
  13. Yes, I didn't get into LR's until I was 28. (4 years ago) Welcome to (in my opinion) the best forum. B) Rich
  14. Just to confirm. Will definately be marshalling, bringing winch equipped 90. 1 Battered sausage and chips and a diet coke please. Thanks Richard
  15. Found this: for front plates (3) This paragraph requires the plate to be fixed - () vertically or, where that is not reasonably practicable, in a position as close to the vertical as is reasonably practicable, () in such a position that in normal daylight the characters of the registration mark are easily distinguishable from every part of a relevant area having the diagonal length specified in paragraph (4). (4) The diagonal length of the relevant area is - () in the case of a mark having characters the width of which is at least 57 millimetres, 22 metres, () in the case of a mark having characters the width of which is 50 millimetres, 21.5 metres, () in the case of a mark having characters the width of which is 44 millimetres, 18 metres.
  16. I like the fact this 110 cage is not OTT, as it's not on a full time challenge vehicle. A mix of internal and external makes it look a lot more subtle. Richard
  17. Protection and perfomance did mine for the orange 90. It is very well made, coated and is a good fit with equal gaps to the bodywork all round. protectionandperformance.co.uk Prices change from time to time, so I'd contact them and tell them exactly what you want. They had to build mine to fit the vehicle.
  18. Up nice and high where you don't have to keep cleaning it works for me. By law it should be clearly visible and not at a 'jaunty' angle. I did have a traffic policeman ask if it was my real number plate, but thats probably because of the content rather than the location. I after I said yes he was fine. B) Richard
  19. Welcome. Some of us have a LWB too. Mine has never broken down (well, it probably will now....)
  20. Brunel Performance are very good. Thats what I run on both of mine. I've had Allisport and Twisted. Allisport was OK, but I prefer Brunel. You can't compare Twisted to Brunel (In my opinion) as it's a much cheaper produced, less efficient item. There is a story behind it, but this a public forum. Having seen the quality of all the alli welding at Brunel I would not go anywhere else. Richard (no, I don't work there and I pay for my bits)
  21. I'm surprise how lax the emission regulations are !! My tuned 300 TDi shot through with the emission just over half what they are allowed to be. The inspector said unless you are kicking out a black cloud under heavy throttle (with no load for the MOT) it should pass easy.......... Richard
  22. I was tempted, but don't want to fudge your entry figures. I'm not sure I can get the brakes on Taz sorted by then. The drums and cylinders are driving me round the twist !! I need discs and pads (ahem.....Jez) Richard
  23. Will the marshalls have time to stop for lunch?
  24. I'd be happy to marshall in Top90, I'm having a 'little' bother with the brakes on the other one. A nice local day out from Essex. Richard
  25. Starting to make a Defender XS look expensive at 28k ! Richard
