  9. Not so much the Tdi, although i missed the V8 but the funny wobbly stick thing, that needs stirring around !! and crawler gear ratios !!
  10. As some know, Picked up a new to me vehicle last Wednesday The ex Nick (Tangoman) Walker's Range Rover Bob-tray, after a quick check over, and talking JST into the WB job for the day, had a wet trek over to Ruggerton farm on Sunday morning, for the last round of the CSW events for 2007 (28th Oct) A newish format from the norm of punch hunting, with a defined route to be followed via tulip diagrams, with a number of special stages and punches along the way, and have a 13.30 finish time We started 20mins after the first car, and with the wet ground, was hard going, with most other teams still on SS1, so decided to miss that one, and do on the way back, so was now 1st on the route, and showing the way round With the rain easing, but still the ground very slippery, at around the halfway point, the time limit was reset to 15.30, back at the start, which we made with about 3 mins to spare, after getting round about 2/3rd of the course !! No real damage, Vehicle suffered one puncture ! bust rear lamp lens, (James fault, whilst removing the ground anchor) snorkel top, ( retrieved by Lewis behind us Thanks !!) WB came off the worst, to go with his mower finger, now has a tree ravaged head !!! blood all over the place ! Thanks to Chris, Nigel & Rick, of CSW, a lot of time & effort put in, and James, for the sterling work of lugging the winch line and anchor all round the site
  11. Excuse me,, the organisers chose the route, James then picked the way for us to trail blaze the route through, !!
  12. Most people i know, run 255/85 BFG's which are 33.07 inch 235.85 are 31.73 inch and 265.75 are 31.65 Ed to correct size.. 80/85 you knew what i meant !!
  13. Congratulations Dan Well done both, but watch the year's now fly by !!,, Now got to sort a Defender for daughter. where have 16 + years gone !!
  14. Ian, loads of different factors to consider How reliable is your 90 ?? do you feel you need the AA card ?? How competitive are you intending to be, ?? How much experience have you got ?? If you are going out to try to win, with little experience, things will break, Unless its local, i always trail the 90, 2 reasons, half the fuel,, (V8 Hybrid at best 10mpg !!) and a hell of a lot more comfy !! only needed the trailer twice, Best trailer by far !! is a Brain James, with a Disco to tow it
  15. Dave,, Can not say i have tried the 3.2 in the Freelander, but in the Volvo, does go well !! Heart would say petrol, but the brain will always say Diesel !! Oh, by the way, is a straight 6 !!
  16. Tend to be "OUT" as i rate the BFG's and not scared to say so, Besides the yop that fitted them, did the first 2 before asking !! so all when that way ,
  17. No problem then Ian, If the cage does not arrive in time,
  18. ?? What have you got, hard or soft top,, If you check James's "Challenge Event Rules and Regulations " Here !! you will find the below, ROLL OVER PROTECTION No vehicle will be allowed to compete without some form of rollover protection. A manufacturer's correctly fitted hardtop or Truck-cab shall be deemed sufficient. Soft or open topped vehicles require a minimum of a roll hoop. THE STRENGTH AND SECURITY OF THE MOUNTINGS OF ROLLOVER PROTECTION ARE OF PARAMOUNT IMPORTANCE. Roll over bar materials should comprise cold drawn seamless carbon steel, minimum yield strength 350N/sq.mm. An alternative material is BS1387 medium weight blue band, minimum dimensions being 44.30mm x 3.2mm. It is advised that drivers and passengers of soft or open topped vehicles wear crash helmets complying to BS6658 standards. The Organisers of this Event strongly recommend that all vehicles be fitted with roll over protection. Have fun !!
  19. Am sure you will find a "timer" relay, here amongst the collection, if you look hard enough, OK, may say Volvo on it !!
  20. Rick,, spoke to Nigel, to confirm Time i got out and had another go, sounds as thought it may be a little different !! Anyone else from here going ??
  21. On the 07, used genuine black one, but will not cover all the bits you want ! Previously use the paddocks deluxe range, which was OK, Here
