  1. 'tis true. The kind where you have to actually drive around rather than pull yourself around with winches Easy boys & girls, each to their own Briercliffe is a quarry similar to Cowm but they permit trucks that aren't road legal (in my case a CCV truck that will arrive on a trailer)
  2. A guy I know (not too well) has just asked if he could borrow my hydraulic tilt transporter to take his race car to Birmingham for a rolling road session. I said no but I'll take it there for him. As has been said trailers represent a significant investment in time and / or money so it will always be a no from me I'm afraid.
  3. Gents, I'm looking for a fuel gauge that won't look out of place in a 2000 Td5 dash but will work with a RRC sender. Can anybody point me in the right direction please I've been putting this of for ages as I can't find a gauge but I ran out of petrol today! Ever tried pushing a 110 on your own?!
  4. ^^^^^ As above. Your "LR Guy" knows bugger all about LR's.
  5. Thanks very much for that Fozsug. Appreciate it
  6. Sorry for the bump but does anybody know?
  7. Gent's, Is anyone planning on going to Briercliffe this coming Saturday? I want to take a new CCV truck for a shakedown but my mate has let me down & I'm a bit worried about recovering it myself if / when something breaks! Cheers, Mick.
  8. Been many times but several years ago. Was a good play day but as I've said it was a while ago. Can't make this weekend as I have a CCV event but let us know how the place is please.
  9. Gent's, Can anybody tell me what the resistance value of a 3.9 sender should be with the float at the top & then at the bottom? Thanks, Mick.
  10. Hmm, That looks like a good isolator, where do I buy one of those from?
  11. Took the 110 out today to look at a 101, now I've always considered myself to be a LR man through & through but parked next to the 101 & also for sale (some people have too much money) was a 2004 AMG Merc CL 55. Well when the owner offers you a test drive what's a boy going to do? F*** me the AMG was a F****** revelation, got back in the 110 feeling like a Luddite. Decision time, 101 or AMG (they are similar after all ehm...)
  12. Gent's, My mates CCV truck is shredding alternator drive belts, looking at it the belt is obviously misaligned. The bolts holding the mounting bracket to the block are tight & the bracket doesn't appear to be bent so I can only assume the alternator isn't mounted correctly. Does anyone have a picture they can post showing if the alternator mounts on the outside or inside of the bracket please? The engine is a 3.9 non serp, I only have serp engines here to compare it to. Thanks, Mick.
  13. I would ask myself why the push rod has come off... In all probability it's worn a hole through the arm. If the arm is ok it is possible to re-seat the push rod but it's a pain in the arse
  14. If you are in the AA I'd go for driving it home, even if it doesn't make it you will know what faults it has before it ends up on the flat back ;-)
  15. Couldn't you keep Brian original & buy a Disco or something cheap for the donkey work? Surely he's deserved putting his "feet" up at his age?
  16. Have you checked the front diff / CV joints?
  17. Not only is this off topic (apart from the tenuous fact that some of us have hydraulic setups) but it's also dull for which i apologise. It's also a bloody long shot but does anyone have a written risk assessment for changing hydraulic pipes (or servicing any hydraulic components) that they are willing to share? Mod's, I know I'm pushing my luck with this one, please delete if you must. Thanks, Mick.
  18. Cheers chaps, I've picked up a Borg Warner, could anyone tell me what fluid it should have in please? Normal ATF?
  19. Thanks Chaps, How do I tell the difference?
  20. Gent's can anybody give me the correct part number for a new steering box for a '92 RRC please? Our favourite Russian web site gives about 10 differing part numbers... Ta, Mick.
