I have a 2011 Hilux as a company vehicle.
In standard trim it's not useless off road but it's not far off.
Take a good tow rope and educate a few people ;-)
As has been said, you don't really need under body protection on green lanes.
In my opinion if a lane is so cut up that you need to beef up the underside it shouldn't be driven on.
That is neat!
Can't find a pic but as Si has said I packed the outside battery up with some wood & fitted them with the +ve terminals at the back.
If you need a pic let me know & I'll take out the bucket seat at the weekend.
Mick.
Gent's,
Received my Sumo bars today (Excellent service from Mr Lewis) & I'm trying to get them on tonight.
Unlike the original bars the nuts that lock the TRE into the tapers aren't castellated and the TRE's aren't drilled to accept split pins.
Does anyone know the torque setting that should be used?
Thanks,
Mick.
That's an interesting comment Nick.
Is it based upon experience?
I've never driven a Niva so wouldn't know.
Cheers,
Mick.
Edit: missed the word "heater" doh!
^^^ battery ok?
My 110 wouldn't start on Saturday, cranked over a bit sluggishly but I could hear the fuel pump relay chattering in between cranks.
Gave her a jump start and fired ok.
Edit, sorry must have posted at the same time as your response.
Forgive the dumb question but is the steering rod behind the front axle called a drag link or a track rod?
I ask because I've ripped mine off today and need to ensure I order the right one!
Cheers,
Mick.
In a previous post I was told a Td5 gauge wouldn't work with a RRC sender?!
Mine doesn't but when I measure the resistance of the sender I get 250K ohms (thanks Fozsug) so maybe the sender is buggered?
