  1. Does this help? http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i242/mut_photos/dashfitting.jpg
  2. Thanks Ralph, The first item isn't available, any idea how you sort out the ends on the second item?
  3. Cheers Fozsug, Doesn't look as though that would fit. Thanks any way. Mick.
  4. Gent's, Can you help please? I need a replacement power steering pipe for my CCV truck (the one that goes from the pump to the steering box), the donor vehicle was a '92 RRC. As above I think the part number is NTC7952 but Craddock's Et Al show this as an obsolete part & don't list an alternative, which is nice. Can any body suggest an alternative part number please? Thanks, Mick.
  5. Gents, Can anybody tell me how thick the casing is on RRC axles? I've just bought a pair of Mr Lewis's weld on diff protectors & would rather not blow holes in the axles tomorrow! Thanks, Mick.
  6. Gent's, I don't have a disco to look at so was wondering if anyone can tell be if the disco chassis is similar in layout to the RRC? I would be cutting a section from the middle along with front and rear overhangs so I'm only talking about the main chassis rails between the axles, all out riggers would be binned as well so I don't care about those either. RRC's are getting a bit pricy to chop up these days but disco's are cheap as chips. Cheers, Mick.
  7. As above non of those measures should land you in trouble but it's a grey area. I for one would risk it (& I do as i have some of them in my workshop) Mick.
  8. Cute dog. Those seats look superb, what are they? Mick.
  9. Gent's, On my 4.6 (that was already squirted when I got the engine) the crank case breather is piped to a breather at the top of my snorkel rather than piped to the plenum. Assuming that there is a good reason for this could someone explain it to me please? Thanks, Mick.
  10. Blimey, that would do it. Were they OEM arms or replacement? Any pics?
  11. Cheers Fozsug, Just found something similar on the demon tweaks website. You should see the price of some of their extinguishers!
  12. Gent's, I'm getting a little tired of the fire extinguisher in my CCV truck flying around the cabin when the going gets rough. It's mounted in one of those cages that has a springy bit that goes around the neck. How have you secured yours? Looking for ideas that don't mean your truck goes up in flames whilst you try to get the extinguisher out. Ta muchly, Mick.
  13. Gent's, Does the standard auto fitted to a RRC have a central diff lock of any description? Transfer boxes only seem to have high / low ratio selector? I'm thinking of building a new CCV truck & would like to go auto but as you can tell I know sod all about them. Ta, Mick.
  14. No bother Neil, Cheers for looking mate.
  15. I'd be thinking on the lines: How can anybody accurately machine a cam for £40. Would be interesting if somebody bought one & a "quality" brand measured them accurately & examined the metallurgy. I may be sceptical but until someone does that I'd walk away after all If a cam shaft broke it would probably cost you a whole lot more than the difference in cost of the cams. Just my thoughts.
  16. ^^^^^ I have had a Portamig 215 for a couple of years now. Good piece of kit, only had problems when I drove over the torch...
  17. What engine? Petrol or diseasel?
  18. Cheers Neil, Should have said it's for my CCV truck, wouldn't use one on the road.
  19. I'll second Dubrovnik, Once you get in to the old town it's a lovely place.
  20. Gent's, I recently 'Squirted a 3.9 on a mates CCV truck, as he doesn't have a snorkel fitted I mounted the air temp sensor out of harms way on the outside of the truck. He's insisting on using an air filter mounted on the plenum inlet under the bonnet so once it's warmed up there is going to be a big difference in the air temp between what MS is reading & what the engine is breathing, will this cause problems? If so would it be acceptable to mount the air temp sensor in the plenum inlet? Thanks, Mick.
  21. Wasn't sure where to post this so please feel free to move. I'm after a thingy, you know, one of them. A thingy that bolts to the rim of a RRC steering wheel that enables you to make quick one handed turns. I can't for the the life of me think what they are called, I've tried Steering Button but it's not that. Any ideas? Thanks, Mick.
  22. Cheers chaps, Task, she looks a whole lot of fun
