  1. Wow, Wouldn't you just feel so safe knowing that was there to protect you
  2. Is a Lucas 3AM Hotwire or flapper? I have one lying around somewhere but dont know which flavour it is.
  3. Without engine? F*** off! I don't have those specific rods but spend a fortune at work with a welding supplier who I am sure would be sympathetic & would donate them to the cause. 110 still has timing issues that are doing my head in, should be so simple but I've lost interest if I'm honest. Joking aside let me know what rods you want, sure I can sort something.
  4. What diameter rods & how many do you need? You get my 4.6 running properly & I'll provide the rods? Interested?
  5. Not sure what size the holes are but using a cone cuttter you could open them up to 20mm & fit stainless conduit box plugs with lock nuts underneath?
  6. Impartial advice there from Nige... EDIS + MS is very, very good but as said is relativley expensive & a bit off a faff to wire up if you don't need it's waterproof aspects..
  7. I've never looked under a Freebie but surely brake flexys will be a minor factor as well?
  8. Prius (etc) drivers make me "laugh". Environmentaly concious apart from the Cadmium mining, recycling etc. At least most series / Defenders will still be on the road in 20 / 30 years (unless they tax them off it). Mr Wabbit, don't you know that new research has shown that tobacco smoke & petrol fumes are actualy good for you? It must be so, a bloke in the pub told me.

  10. Don't you have any burning gear? Thought it was on the essential LR tool list!
  11. Yes please Al, that would be great. Thanks for the info chaps.
  12. Good to hear about a good Disco for once.
  13. Gent's, Haven't had chance to touch the 110 for a while but I wan't to get it running right. Sorry about the crappy image but it's a shot of my dash taken from a camera phone: Does the "Spark Advance" look as you would expect for the given conditions? I can't compare it to my CCV as it doesn't have a touch screen & my laptop is buggered. Cheers, Mick.
  14. Yep, sounds like the switch is goosed or a bad connection as it provides the 0V connection (or earth if you prefer).
  15. I assume you've checked what voltage it's putting out?
  16. Thanks for that. Does anybody have a picture of one fitted? Alternatively links to any write ups on how to go full hydro would be greatly appreciated!
  17. Gent's, Has anyone any experience of the Gwyn Lewis Hydro Assist kit? I've had a look at the instructions on his web site but can't see how you plumb it in to the existing power steering? Thinking of fitting it to my CCV truck so I'm not worried about how it feels, would just be nice to have more assistance. Thanks, Mick.
  18. Thanks David, I will show her your post in an attempt to convince her that a 4.6 is the way to go. I will then blame you when she fills it up for the second time
  19. Wheel base is a matter of preference really. For Comp Safari I'd pick 100" as stability is more important than maneuverability but others will prefer 88". If you want to shorten it cut the chassis between the radius and trailing arms. As for the arse end cut it about 6" behind the spring turret & make your own rear cross member. Bear in mind that you will need to check that which ever cage you choose will mount properly if you cut in the places I've said. HTH's, Mick.
  20. might help if you specified the vehicle & engine
