  1. Hehe! Black muddy trousers, black muddy 'Land Rover' seatshirt and usually in the passenger seat of a pick-up'ed bobtailed Rangie being followed by a Yellow Rangie B)
  2. Yeah - I remember TurboCharger ...and do see the resembalence... lol!
  3. Agree with Les Fast Road seats are the way to go - I'm putting Subaru Impreza bucket seats in my series for three reasons: a) they've got low sides so are easy to get in and out of (useful for your co-driver who'll love you for it) B) they're *very* supportive c) The ones in my Scooby are water stained (open window and car washing are a bad combination!) so I can put them in my series and get some shiny new ones for the Scoob! Also, they're fantastic on long journeys, very comfy, hard wearing and easy to come by in your local scrappy ... and already have the hole made for the harnesses. Best thing would be to go and try a load B)
  4. From what I know it will be a fun comp! Something for (literally) everyone, which 7S can cater for easily. Rest of the questions have yet to be decided, so any other queries should be forwarded to the Committee www.slrc.com . I know there still working on it at the moment, so probably won't have any answers for you yet. I'm sure it'll be properly announced with it's own thread when all sorted As for now... anymore pics anyone? We've had some great ones so far B)
  5. Should be fun B) 7S is certainly the best site I've ever been too - especially with the mix of terrain... keep yer busy for weeks it could!
  6. Fantastic weekend B) Loved every minute of it, thanks to everyone who organised it and everyone who had to put up with me getting overexcited Best moment: Sliding down the bank at the waterfall whilst setting up the winch pull and actually landing on my feet at the bottom... if I hadn't looked so suprised when I landed I would have looked quite proffessional! Proudest moment: Having a bigger bar of chocolate than Paul Weirdest moment: Having to have the window open when I went to bed last night as I was too hot in the house! Great to meet everyone and as usual I learned a load. Only having one real muck-up all weekend (on the gully near the bridge, thanks to Paul/Fruity/Oh beardy one/etc. for helping, I really didn't have a clue what to do) was good and what I learnt there helped alot on later punches, we were flying through the rock gullies after that. I'm starting to like this punch challenge thing a little bit too much, more learning to do I feel. For the first time out with the winches we didn't do too bad: 29 punches on Dan and mine's card when we stopped at 1pm on Sunday (and we couldn't find that blasted Jeep with punch 25 either!). Not bad for a team only on their 2nd outing. Thanks again guys, loved every minute. Jen
  7. So they're not building it anyway? That explains the 400BHP, building a production off-road car with that would be interestin', well, unless you're Porsche (and yes, I've seen a Cayenne off road at Woodlands before, most interesting ). (oh, and Tim, although they don't build a 400bhp standard Scoob (yet) , 400BHP is quite normal for the Scooby engines these days, especially the 2.5 we'll be getting soon B) )
  8. An especially nice vehicle and with the same engine as the Impreza the possiblities are endless B) Difference between the Volvo and the Disco? One will probably go off road and has been used off road, the Disco has the ability with actual things that are useful off road instead of a roof rack to allow you to put every really heavy item in the car on the roof... Mm, sensible. Still, Volvo have hit a mark for all those that dream of leaving the kids and escaping whilst doing the Tesco's shop and I'm sure they'll sell loads and that, after all, is the object of the excercise.
  9. B) Paul and Tim in a team would be much fun We might well be in the Camel for this one anyway, Dan's Rangie's coming back into the Garage after 7S as he has decided he wants to change the design again... judging on how many weekends we've had free (read: 1) between last 7S and this 7S, I'm not sure she'll be ready in time for the Forum meet! Still, will be trying our hardest! B)
  10. Eh? I thought Moo was a member, just one of those strange 'lurky' people! Besides, we need him to drag us out of the mud!
  11. Mornin' all B) We're heading up afternoon of Friday and probably setting up/fixing what we broke (already) Friday night... will see you all Saturday morning and really like the sound of cheap takeaway in the Common Room on Saturday night as I too am from the same town as Mr Lovejoy That's if they'll let us common camping people in Bertha is now offically being 'bodged'... Dan changed his mind last weekend and despite working hard on her now wants to change the design of the whole back end (again ), so expect lots of rivets and chequerplate and next time you see her she'll look beautiful (I'm trying hard not to say 'I told you so ). Lookin' forward to it and getting very over excited again Jen
  12. Jen

    ShireLRC

It is a quality Mag B) Pics as funny as ever as well
  13. Series at the end of Bad Boys 2 as well... B)
  14. Ahhhhhhh B) That sounds perfect Dan wasn't too fussed about the showers, but that's when I explained to him that's because he'd spend most teh day sat in a warm Rangie and I'd spend it stood in a puddle/river/mud hole! Will most def. take up that offer if the shower blocks closed at the campsite.
  15. We e-mailed Angela, all the rooms in the castle have gone - nothing left at all. We managed to find a farm that offers camping about 5 miles from 7 Sisters, it's likley the shower block won't be open though... but they have toilets! Can find the details if anyone wants them.
  16. Right - well we've booked our Camp site, yes, camp site. We couldn't force mine and Dan's snoring on all of you.. it just wouldn't be fair lol! No rooms left at the castle or any B&B, but we're only 5 miles from 7 sisters so will be joining you all for a few pints on Saturday night if the hotel doesn't mind B)
  17. And don't forget the spade and pick axe for the new Camel! I spent ages stealing bits of Guy's camel and walking around trying to match them up! B) Good day and great to catch up with people Lovely weather as well
  18. Well I'm bringing my bloke! I think Fi's coming too, and Angela who runs it from the J33P side will be there, lots of ladies will be present probably. It's a fun techinical site and I've even managed to convice my other half to listen to me now, so I may even be able to do some proper bitching! B) It's definatly a 'do what you want to do' event, we had a great time last time with the 'group of 5' learnt alot and had a good laugh along the way. I think this time we're bringing our 'team mate' as it's the first time his vehicle's been ready in ages, so now the full team's assembled we're going to go for it flat out and see how many punches we're capable off Should be amusing!
  19. Oooooooooooo, LOVE 6R4's B) Friend of mine was describing how to drive his too me - apparently it's just floor it, then don't lift. I think his words were 'If you lift, you'll next vision will be from in the middle of the bush at the side of the road' B)
  20. I disagree - I know we are a minority, but we're also in one of the fastest growing 'sports' in the UK. Shire LRC's membership is a testament to that - from 100 something members to 450 in the space of a couple of years. We're only a minority if we don't work together, the government still have to work to a set of laws and at the end of the day they still need to get elected at the end of every term. I admitt things don't look good (use hunting as an example of a minority being walked over), but if we work together and can get organised there's no need for 4x4's to undergo any form of discrimination. Look at the way the problems with the SPS were overcome... Smaller issues like TRO's on lanes can be overcome with the right knowledge. Every Perminant TRO has to be advertised and can be objected to. Experimental and temporary TRO's have a limited timespan and can be challenged at the end of that. If we have the knowledge we can sort it out It's the 'big' issues such as these discussed here - but as far as I see there's only one problem which the long standing one - Any volunteers to organise a fight against these issues? Of course if we all stop fighting now, we may as well have a 'meet' at the local Smart Dealership.
  21. Nobel M12 GTO ............. Mmmmmmm. B) - yes, I know it's a Mondeo Engine, but it's got 2 turbos and sounds fantastic. Never really been into 'big power' and am more and 'excellent handling' type girl myself, hense the M12, but wouldn't mind and Ford Mustang, Shelby GT500 of course. Loved it before, loved it alot after seeing 'Elenor', excellent looking car. As a 'fun' car, I'd love a rally preped Subaru Impreza - anti-lag etc. etc. (and the ability to rebuild the flat four!) ... in the mean time I'll just have to stick with my 230bhp +, 5.2 seconds to 60, sticks like glue, road going standard (ish!) baby B) (oh. and Will Smith ) ...not forgetting a TVR. And an Aston (classic Aston, none of this modern stuff). Mm. I was asked to make my 'top 10' of cars the other day, I think I ended up with 43. So I better stop now!
