  1. Not sure of the spring rate? think i will give them a call tomorrow and see what they say, who sells Flatdog springs? or any info? i have seen the name, but never seen anyone who sells them? I am after the best of both worlds really, working the disco hard in the week, but then i still want good road manners at the weekends as im on motorways, So dont want solid suspention.
  2. Morning all, Im looking to fit new springs and shocks on my 98 disco, Has anyone fitted a set of medium duty Terrafirma springs and shocks? just looking for feed back on them really before i take the plunge, i have winch, roof rack, and usually cart around about 150-200kg of kit in the back during the week, also tow 11ft trailer every now and then, sometimes with a 1.5 ton digger, and other small plant. Im on standard springs and shocks at present, and they are getting a bit tired. Did think about the heavy duty set up, but still want it to perform ok unloaded, and not end up with a hard ride. Any suggestions comments on set up would be greatfully received! Cheers Ian
  3. Still worth pulling the hub off, mine was noisy, zero play in the bearing, everything felt fine, but i looked and the bearing was in 3 peices Ian
  4. You looked at the "barjo" website? Might throw some light on it! or give you a few ideas? Ian
  5. Head gasket shot, and drained about 2 ltrs water from the block!
  6. Just in from work, so time is NOT on my side But let me know if there are any plans for the weekend? anyone off to Newbury Sunday? Cheers Ian
  7. Im sure on mine they are the metal rivet type nuts? you could also try the round plastic ones that open out from behind, when you insert a screw, But im sure the screws that hold the trim in place are threaded?/so would go with the first. Ian
  8. Yeh, just what i was thinking, cheers for that Ian
  9. Hi there, Anyone have any good tips or tricks regarding the cam belt and head gasket on the 1800cc K SERIES engine, I have one to do tomorrow for a friend, and he has been sold a head kit from a rover dealer for around £240 He now has a whacking great lump of alloy that appears to bolt up in the bottom of the block, and held down with the strech bolts for the head! "Its a Lotus design said the parts man"!!!!! anyone came across this? Thing is i have had a look and i dont think it is head gasket failiure, coolant is clean, no oil film, and no real symptoms of h/g. Im leaning more towards water pump? or inlet manifold? as i hear they can cause problems with leaking? I will drain the oil in the morning and see what comes out either oil/water and go from there! Like i say any info regarding this/ what to look out for would be great. many thanks Ian
  10. Whats the verdict on the springs Scott? i was looking at the very same set the other day! I was after a 1" lift but they dont do them, only 2" so not sure who to turn to now. Ian
  11. Whip the door trim off and check all the runners, and the window regulator/motor, my 300 started doing this, and found one arm had the little plastic slider missing and jumpped out of its trac, and twisted the metal work, and chewed up the gears on the motor. (New regulator for me) worth giving the rubbers a squirt of WD that the window slide up and down in too, as this can free things up no end, Ian
  12. That would be your best bet, I get all mine from a New Holland dealership, and you cant beat them on price. Ian
  13. I have a set of compressors if you need them Scott? (not to far away!) Was the MOT man unkind this time?? Ian
