  1. £50 and a tube of smarties i would have thought
  2. Love the gear stick set up, better watch your fingers
  3. Hi Martin, Is this where the window rubbers split in the corners/rear quarter glass rubbers? Or is it the sunroof? Ian
  4. Hi Robin, I used black tiger seal on my sunroofs, never had a problem since! Sealed up between the glass edge, and outer trim, then a nice bead around the whole frame where it laps over on to the roof. Ian
  5. Great tyres! I use my disco for work, in and out of fields, off the beaten track and never really had any problems with them. Also drive up to Birmingham every week, and they perform good on the Motorways, not much road noise. Deppending on where you are in Southampton and if your willing to travel, worth contacting Micheldever tyres, between Winchester - Newbury, They were doing them for good prices, i ended up getting a set of 5, But then the cost of fuel might outweigh the saving? still worth a phone call though. Ian
  6. Is that snow, or dust from all the filler used on the ground??
  7. Hi there, Have you had a good look at the fuel sediment filter under the rear chassis? These can corrode quite badly, also the small plastic drain screw can cause problems, These can be a source of air in diesel problems, Well worth a look if you havent done already? Ian
  8. Most of the people that target workshops are so "tooled up" that nothing will stop them, Before i put all my gear in my workshop, i went out and brought the best hasps, an absolute fortune on 3 very large good padlocks, bolted all the fixings through the doors and welded up the nuts, Yale alarm, 3 flood lights, thought that will stop them! 4 weeks later i got broken in to, they could not force the hasps and staples off the doors, but cut the paddlocks open like a knife through butter! cut the alarm, smashed all the outside lights, the dammage they caused was shocking, and bearing in mind only 50 yrds away from the house! we heard nothing, all at 12.30am, and lost about 4 grands worth of kit! a girl down the road saw a red pick up outside at that time, and i have been told by the police who came to look at it, that the gang are going in armed! What Bl***y Chance do you stand! If i could give one peice of advice, GET INSURANCE!!!!! And its true the more security you put on, the more tempting it is to wonder what you got inside. Ian
  9. Quite a few used on various tractors too for the same purpose, anywhere between £120-£200 mark depending on the dealership! if you do find an outlet selling them cheap, i would like to know too. Ian
  10. I would have thought the biggest pain would be the wiring, theres lots more on a 300 dash, and i think most of the plugs were all changed on the face lift?
  11. For some sad reason Newbury and near by areas are being targeted by all sorts at the moment, I run my own ground care company and had all my kit nicked in November all in all, 4 thousand pounds worth of Stihl tools! and pretty much everyone in the same trade have been a victim, i have it all back now on the insurance but im frightend to leave it any where now, On the local news tonight they were on about the farms that are being hit and tractor thefts in the local area. It just never seems to end even with the best locks, alarms, etc they still win the day. All i know is there must be someone out there with a heap of landrover spares, and chainsaws! I was told that it all ends up abroad. Sad old world we live in now Chin up mate Ian
  12. Hi Craig, What sort of miles has it under its belt? May be worth getting the injectors tested? Ian
  13. Sorry to hear about your loss, Im just down the road from Newbury, and have just come back from a 3 night trip away only to find someone has tried to remove my spare wheel and brand new AT2 Managed to find one of the nuts, but they could not undo the locking one! But i will keep my eyes open for you just in case Ian
  14. Ive got a full lengh rack on mine, and i think it "saves to roof if anything" when off road, You could always chuck a chainsaw in the boot!
  15. Hi there, I would not put my little chap (3 yrs) in the fold down seats of a discovery, not in a car seat anyway, they have to be forward facing. They are ok for when they are a bit older, and not in booster seats anymore, He is mostly in the front (no passenger air bag) And i can only get 2 childs car seats on the rear seat, as they only have a lap belt in the centre, You didnt say how old your children are? im only in the 3-4 year stage at the moment! Bit of a mine field this! as there are so many kids car seats out there all with their own fitting requirements, but deffo no to toddlers in the boot! Guess mums in the back again then!! Regards Ian
  16. Ah! good old Mr Twisty, Ive seen so many stereos fitted like this, and a few burnt dash boards!
  17. Best thing to do is take the speakers out, note the colours, trace them back to the head unit, and go from there, all the head unit ones should be in pairs, rear door sub needs a bit more playing with as i think it picks up a live feed from the L/R head unit. I ended up doing away with the rear sub and put an "active sub" under the passenger seat, Ian
  18. I brought an Erbauer 3.5 hp petrol one from Screwfix last year and its been great, think i paid about £259 for it, Biggest problem with it was it was on stupid little plastic wheels, so i got a couple of sack truck wheels and tyres and put them on, well worth a look at though.
  19. You could try a De cat, blank the EGR, other than that then you are looking at intercooler upgrade, pump tweeks, turbo upgrade, depends on how much of your cash you want to part with? Ian
  20. I would try a basic service first, air filter, oil, fuel filter, whats the mileage? when was its last service? I tend to do my disco every 6000 miles just to keep it happy, Parts cost next to nothing. Ian
  21. Had a funny feeling that would have been the answer
