  1. Cracked it at last! http://transylvania4x4tours.myfreeforum.org/index.php Everyone is welcome to join by the way! Cheers, Paul
  2. I have seen and been in rejo's Disco and it certainly has lots of lift! He frightened me by going round a sharp corner at speed. My Defender would have rolled over but in his Disco we remained upright and in one piece!
  3. Thanks Geoff, I will have a crack at it. Cheers, Paul
  4. http://forums.lr4x4.com/index.php?showtopi...02&hl=redex Cheers, Paul
  5. Thanks Trev, I understand how to link it to my web site, but embedding it using frames? How do you do that?
  6. Thanks Geoff, It is obviously free to allow advertising and I certainly can't change the URL form the admin panel. It is contained within an open box but when submitted it auto reverts to the present url. Thanks for your advice but I think I'm stuck with website access only. Paul
  7. Hey I can't believe the controls on these forums. The settings are unbelievable! They just go on and on. Managed to get most of it sorted but not the URL. I managed to link it to my web site so it's not swimming in the ether, but it would be nice to have an independent URL. cheers, Paul
  8. Hi, I have been trying to sort this out for hours and completely stumped by it. I attatched a mesaage board to my web site, but can't seem to change the URL. I obviously want something that is recognisable to the company and web site. Any ideas how to do this because it is driving me bonkers? http://www.setbb.com/pdwhite/index.php?mforum=pdwhite Thanks in advance Paul
  9. Thanks Ralph, e-mail sent to both companies
  10. Thanks Ralph. I did get that information. Paddocks do good prices on OME dampers but for some reason they do not sell the springs as well. Cheers, Paul
  11. My cousin sent me this link which is a great reference guide to OME suspension http://www.pangaea-expeditions.com/ome/
  12. Thanks Ralph, that is what we will do. Do you know where I can get the torque settings for the bushes? Haynes manual doesn't oblige. Cheers, Paul
  13. Are you over in Africa now or are you going soon? Do you live that way? When you say you should be able to get most parts, from where in the middle of Botswana? Do you do most of the work and maintenance on yor LR yourself? Do you carry many spares with you? Cheers, Paul
  14. Thanks Mike, Unfortunately the tracks and roads in Transylvania will pound the life out of most vehicles so have decided to invest in a good suspension set up. Rejo has said that I will need to remove the self leveller (which doesn't work anyway) when fitting the new old man emu springs and dampers. At the moment my LR sags a little under weight. We tested it, when I stood on the back step she dropped an inch! Cheers, Paul
  15. Thanks Chris, That must mean that Polybush are easier to fit and remove after the OEM is out as I noticed there is a metal core and a split bush which fits either side of the eye? Any idea where I can find or what the torque settings are? Bought a torque wrench over here, so if you have the settings in metric even better. Cheers, Paul
  16. Hi, Just looking at the lower links like a frightened rabbit! Has anybody tried to remove the bushes from the eyes without the use of a bush press? Cheers, Paul
  17. Thanks for the offer, but when I get them on I want them there for a long time. I bought a set of the polybush reds. I got them from Nene Overland. Cracking place and I got a lot of help and advice from Kevin Mackman that works there. He said that most of the heavy duty springs and shocks that they fit are Britpart. Cheers Paul
  18. Hi, thanks for the advice. Nene is not far from where I will be staying so I will check them out when I'm over this week. See what deals they have. Cheers, Paul
  19. Thanks for the info. I will check out their prices. Cheers, Paul
  20. Thanks Diff for all that information, it is really interesting. When I come over to the UK next time I will look out for a decent wheel/tyre package. Can you recommend any specific company that are good on these packages. The Hankooks as you say look like a good choice. Cheers, Paul
  21. That is useful info Diff. Regarding the RIMS, which would you suggest then to gain the extra width? Cheers, Paul
  22. Thanks guys, that argument seems settled. Cheers, Paul
  23. You have been clear Ralph. Thanks
  24. I'm getting a bit confused now. There seems to be some real differences of opinion. The most important factor for me is reliability and longevity. What is the general consensus. OME bushes (old man emu) OME bushes (Orig manufacturers equip) Superpro polybush Cheers, Paul
