  1. Wish I could help also but sadly not , I have a 1995 300tdi but it does not have an engine immobilizer, is it standard system. Regards Frax
  2. Sorry should have quoted 300tdi not 200tdi. Frax
  3. I cut it to shape and then heated it before fitting it, the stuff does not need to be heated it just helps it bend a bit better. Frax
  4. It looks like it is all one part; I did remove one from an LT77 box last year and as far as I remember it was two parts. The cross member was round and the box mounts were separate. I will be taking the R380 one out but it will be about 3 weeks before I get that done as I am going away today for two weeks. If you have not got the info you need by then I will be in a better place to help. As for the mounting holes, They look the same on the chassis. Regards Frax
  5. Sadly wont know for quite some time as I am rebuilding my Defender and just fitted the fatmat last week, still loads to do. It went on easy - sticks well and as far as I can tell by all info I could find it is good stuff. Frax
  6. Sorry about I was moving stuff about in photobucket. Did not know it droped the link. Frax
  7. My 300tdi 1995 has an r380 and the tunnel is a direct swap to the TD5. The 300tdi has a removable section which was not required. Other differences I have found so far are Bonnet release = bracket on 300 is not on the td5 but I just bought a td5 one which is better in my opinion. Large fuse box in engine compartment which feeds starter solenoid = bracket on passengers footwell in engine compartment is not there on the td5. Wiring loom goes through in a different place so needed to drill a large hole for td5. May be more and I will update as I go. Pics of TD5 Frax
  8. You will need to fit a boost gauge, Max boost should be no more than 12 psi - have a look in the tech section, lots of info on how to do it there. Frax
  9. Hi have a look in the tech archive; there is a lot of info about adjusting you fuel pump. I did it on my 300tdi and could not believe the difference and it only take about 5 min. You can also do yer turbo which is also easy on the 200, 300tdi is a pain in the back side. Frax
  10. I think but not sure that the lt77 had a round cross member, the r380 is square but as far as I know the holes for fitting are the same. you may need new mounting brackets though. I have listed some pics below of an r380 mount - hope you can get some info from it. Not the best pics but all I have. Frax
  11. I have just used fatmat and found it easy to work with. heated it with a hot air gun and stuck it in place. Frax
  12. It could Western but the loom would be away to short sadly, it could however be fitted to the foot well inner side if I stripped it all out (maybe) Frax
  13. Hi I am in the process of rebuilding my 300tdi 90 1995 and have replaced the bulkhead with a td5 one. Next to the heater matrix there is a fuse box which clips onto a bracket which is spot welded to the passenger’s foot well but the td5 one does not have this. Has anyone come across this problem and if so how did you overcome it. I know I could drill out the spot welds and fit the bracket to the td5 but the 300tdi bulkhead is not in bad condition and I am hoping to sell it later (it only needs minimal welding to put it back to good condition) Or if anyone is scrapping a 300tdi bulkhead or passenger’s side foot well and is willing to cut out the bracket and sell it let me know. I could make one but it has little lugs which hold the box in place and I don’t think I am that good. Regards Frax
  14. Left to right is that not clockwise ?????? Frax
  15. I am trying to remove the viscous fan, the thing wont budge. I know it has a left hand thread and I have a 32 mm spanner on it and have given it a lot of sharp knocks with a big hammer but no luck. Just to make sure I am hitting it in the correct direction can you tell me do I hit it from the left side down towards the power steering pump. The radiator is out and I am standing at the front of the engine from here I take it that the engine turns in a clockwise direction. Am I missing something? Frax
  16. Found a TD5 one and bought that but have also noticed that there is a bracket next to the heater matrex which hold a fues box with some heavy duty fuses which is also not there. dont think I will find tese for sale. Thank for yer help. Frax
  17. If I can help it I would like to leave the 300tdi in one bit as the condition would be worth a repair and posible sell. As for the TD5 Bonnet release I have had a look on ebay but no joy - will keep looking though, is it a diferent cable ? Frax
  18. Hi I am in the middle of changing my bulkhead on my 300tdi to one from a TD5 and have just noticed that there is not a bracket in the drivers foot well to fit the cable pull to. The bracket on the 300tdi is welded to the foot well so it cannot be removed. I have read a lot about this conversion but have never seen anything about the bonnet able pull. I know a lot of you have done this conversion so any help would be appreciated. Regards Frax
  19. Hi It is just stuck, try to turn it with what is left of the bolt or just give the bracket a good dunt. Frax
  20. I will do but it could be a while as I am in the middle of a rebuild and at the moment I am at the strip down stage, I am also trying to buy bits as I go along. Frax
  21. Thank you for all the replies and information, I am even now convinced that a plastic skin would be OK to use now. Frax
  22. At last someone who has used them. Strange that you are in Aberdeenshire, are you near me by any chance ? Love the Tomcat Mike looks real good but I see you have sold or are selling it. Regards Frax
